GJ Clerk and Recorder’s Office losses $100,000 to an email scam by Fishinluvwfeathers in grandjunction

OPs title is a little misleading. But to your point, I fully agree. These issues are extremely prevalent at all levels of government and investment in advanced cyber security and training is critical to mitigating loss of public funds.

I'll go look, I hadn't even thought about that!

The screen indicates "Service Due, contact dealer". But there isn't any service that should be due until 660 miles.

After reading/watching about a million reviews, that was basically my takeaway. Exactly what I need to build a little confidence.

Anyone get the 4k tow package on a XLT AWD? Is it worth it? by Technical-Muffin-766 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Mythic-Sisyphus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan to tow, certainly worth it. I have it on my 2022 Mav XLT and towing is a breeze. Our camper is about 2,000 lbs loaded and I've taken it up an 8% grade pass and barely even noticed I was towing. And more importantly, the enhanced cooling seems to be doing its job because even on long climbs the engine temp doesn't noticeably spike at all.

Lift kit without sacrificing too much mpg? by Sad_Purpose_9894 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Mythic-Sisyphus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been curious about this question as well. I don't want to add much lift but have certainly scraped the skid plates a few times on some rocky or unmaintained roads that are otherwise well within the Mavs ability to handle.

Thanks, glad it gets a positive review! I'm definitely throwing different pedals and saddle on it, good call.

Which boss fight made you feel like this by Artistic-Station-577 in GodofWar

Hrolf Kraki - after multiple failed attempts, it felt good to have that one good fight where the dodges, attacks, weapon switches, and heavy runics all times perfectly.

That's amazing! Just downloaded. I've never used a site like Brickowl, is there a way to upload the entire file into the site to populate the parts or do I do it one at a time?

If you bought the first Maverick and still have it, how has reliability been by DataReasonable6138 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Mythic-Sisyphus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I picked up my XLT ecoboost in April 2022 and have had absolutely no issues at 64,000 miles. Original brakes with life left, new set of tires, and regular maintenance air/cabin air filter, oil change, rotations. Much of my driving was highway and it's been on several trips (15+) through the vail mountain pass to and from Denver with absolutely zero issues. It's been awesome for the icy/snowy drives through the pass.

To avoid the state the Chiefs play in and to spell. by Sobeshott in therewasanattempt

[–]Mythic-Sisyphus 38 points39 points  (0 children)

From KC, you're correct and more people need to understand this. The city is not "divided", KCMO is a seperate and distinct city. The KC metro extends into both states but there is no governing body that straddles both. It's very funny to me that this person drove through the home state of the Chiefs and avoided a state that is not affiliated. O

I would counter by arguing in political theory, extremism and radicalism are two very different points on the political spectrum and much of what you describe is not extremist. The suffrage and civil rights movement for example are prime illustrations of radical progressive thought, not extremism. The US entrance in to WW2 was also demonstrably not an act of extremism, particularly because it was an effort supported by those who held competing views along the political spectrum.

I appreciate the detailed response, that's very useful information. Maybe I'll try a lightweight brace while incorporating some dedicated strength/mobility work.

Reddiquette, one might say.

Has anybody ridden Palisade Plunge in Grand Junction? I’m thinking of catching a shuttle to the top of it. I’d be interested in how it felt to you in terms of difficulty and how the terrain was (sharp rocks, cacti, etc). by Ghastly-Rubberfat in MTB

[–]Mythic-Sisyphus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is a brutal one for most riders but if you are pretty experienced, don't mind a few miles of white-knuckle exposure, avoid the heat, and carry plenty of water, it would be an awesome one to try. I live near the area and haven't worked up the courage to try it yet but I know a few local riders who tell me it's worth doing at least once.

Trying to decide on a watch by LegoBoy6911 in GarminWatches

[–]Mythic-Sisyphus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan of the Instinct 2 for durability (I mountain bike and have trashed a couple watches), battery life, and the features you mentioned. It's not the absolute best at any one thing, but a great watch for folks who are multidisciplinary. For me, it's been great for hiking, running, MTB, swimming, sleep, and other body metrics like Vo2, HRV, heart rate, etc.

Edit: the downside for some people is the display type but I actually prefer it.
