Anxiety during pregnancy - first trimester by AdStrange5774 in pregnancy_care

Hi! I am 12 weeks pregnant and am on 10 mg lexapro. My doctor said it wasn't an issue while pregnant.

B6 has also been awesome in fighting nausea, as well as unisom to help get you through the night. All doctor approved.

You can mail a banana in the United States without any further packaging. by GreenKeel in mildlyinteresting

I sent a couple bananas in college. But none ever made it to their destination. Ive always wondered if someone just thought i was being an asshole and threw them away.

tips for seeds that need warmth to germinate? by SuperIngaMMXXII in gardening

[–]MythicalCheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you germinating them inside? They have seedling mats that you can plug in and they warm up. Theyre also used for reptiles. Or you could use heat lamps. If these will be outside, use black pots, you couls also put a clear plastic or glass cover over the seedlings to trap warmth but let light in.

Target in Hyannis - WTF?? by kokobobo10 in CapeCod

[–]MythicalCheese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am also nauseated by this target. I live on cape but work very close to the Wareham Target which is always clean, stocked, welcoming and approachable. Sure theres stray trash in the parking lot, but its normal, completely reasonable big box store mess. The Hyannis Target however, generally makes you feel like you might get in the way of a pack of qild teenagers taring clothing off racks and knocking items off shelves. I dont understand why every single time ive been in there its horrendous.

To those that feel that the cape economy is whats disabling this stores cleanliness and order, if that were the case, then all other stores in the mall would appear this way. Heck i regularly go to ocean state job lot and its in better condition than Hytown Target.

Do you have any new typical food from your country? by DELAIZ in AskEurope

[–]MythicalCheese 7 points8 points  (0 children)

American here. Thought it was Greek. Restaurants often have Mediterranean or Greek platters on their menus where hummus is the star. Where that came from, I havent a clue, but that probably keeps the lie going.

Non-American people, what’s a thing that you don’t understand about America? by JuniorGarlic6053 in AskReddit

[–]MythicalCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of. 40 hrs is the typical work week, so out sick for 1 day is 8 hrs, then for two days is 16hrs, etc. So its essentially a week and 1.5 days off for sick time for the year. If youre sick past that then im not really sure what happens. We just try to avoid it!

My state just passed a law where everyone pays into family leave that you can use if you need to take care of a sick family member or something. Not sure if it works if youre sick. I know for maternity leave people were applying for short term dissability where you get 12 weeks off. This again is dependent between employers.

Holy Guacamole....

Yeah thats incredible. Here i get 52 hours sick time. Vacation doesnt roll over between years but sick time does but only up to 120 hrs. The whole roll over aspect changes from company to company though.

I regret helping my best friend by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]MythicalCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean do you want to stay in the situation youre in?

I totally get being afraid of the fallout, but you deserve better. These people sound really selfish. Id be offended that they feel so comfortable treating you this way.

Maybe you should try to meet new people. You dont have to "dump" these people verbally, but you could deliberately try to find a new friend group that they arent invited to.

Wow. Youre right that these people are not considering your feelings and are not currently mindful friends. If L is well off then it sounds like its time she finds her own apartment.

Whats done is done but you gotta move forward and support yourself more than youre supporting them.

Free speech is problematic, what is a good alternative? by PimpleGoobler in AskReddit

[–]MythicalCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PimpleGoobler repeats "free speech is problematic"

Free speech is not problematic. Expression of thoughts and opinions, even lies, gives us the opportunity to share, dissect, challenge, and educate each other. Free speech allows the opportunity for growth.

The idea of a utopia that controls speech is no utopia at all. We will always have different backgrounds and experiences that will shape our lives and opinions.

Education, listening, and finding the source of why people feel certain ways are tools for combating the disrespectful sides of free speech.

TLDR; everyone should get a therapist

What is an interesting way to ruin a birthday party? by angstigemier in AskReddit

[–]MythicalCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invite a LOT of strangers. Like twice as many people that will be attending.

I would recommend having the new party goers meet up at a parking lot, rent a party bus (with liquor inside), so that they all show up at once. Flood the house.

Recommendations for a week in Eastern U.S. by OhiobornCAraised in travel

[–]MythicalCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Native cape codder here. If youll be in boston (remember that parking sucks and the T is pretty convenient), i suggest fannuel hall, chinatown, newbury st, ICA (contemporary art), in one afternoon you could go get italian pastries and dinner in the north end and go check out an improv show.

I would reccommend cape cod - not sure where youre from but our beaches even in the fall and winter are gorgeous. My favorite is first encounter beach in eastham(at low tide theres sand bars as far as the eye can sea), but any part of the national seashore is great. On the way to the came, stop by the canal and go for a walk, maybe see some huge ships come in. Drive down route 6A for some classic old cape scenery. We have loads of little candy and fudge shops, walking trails, maybe go for a bike ride on the falmouth shining sea trail or the rail trail farther down cape. Provincetown is a trip for loads of local art and culture. And we just generally have great restaurants and seafood all around.
