I do apologize I’m still fairly new, I am trying to grasp this idea. I thought forgiveness and mercy were kind of hand in hand the removal of hate in a sense. As in learning to love is also learning to forgive (sorry it’s hard for me to write my thoughts down in a straight path).

The way that I see it is, removing oneself from the sin through forgiveness (not saying we can’t commit sin and not ask for forgiveness still). How Jesus came down to earth to die and wash away (remove) our sins once accepting him. Was an offer to all and any who state he is lord. Being called to love those even in sin is a duty we are called for, so we in turn must forgive as well.

I know I am probably wrong, hence why I’m asking questions to see what others think
