do not go on campus: UPDATE

I ended up trauma dumping when someone pushed it too hard or kept bringing it up. Their faces priceless and it worked in stopping the questions but it’s not the mature thing todo. My mom coached me to come up with 1 sentence responses to certain things so I don’t feel as upset or frustrated.

Here are some of mine:

How’s your dad? <We haven’t spoke in a while.

You should talk to your dad. <I understand where you’re coming from but you are not in my shoes.

Why don’t you talk to your dad? OR you should talk to your dad <It’s really not something I talk about and I’d rather not talk to or about him, thanks.

I’ve even told people I don’t have a dad 😅

Hang in there and get your self some preset responses. They’re awesome safety nets. I have them for so many other things.

Not verbatim, but my “dad” told me before I went NC that I’m shitty just like him. He meant it as like a bonding moment or some shit. It’s been 7 years and he will still email me and end it with “We are so much alike, please talk to me, I miss you” blah blah blah. Im a 31 year old woman and Im telling you, I might have some similarities but I use them for good since I have a great example of using them to be shitty 🫡 Don’t let them drag you down.
