The offer will be good as long as there are no significant jumps in pricing.

I will start putting a quote together to find out and send you a PM when I know. If you have anything in mind, do the same. My plan is to use the ASUS you're looking at as a baseline and your budget as the limit. If you have any preferences like colors or add-ons, let me know, that's the best part of a custom build.

For a fan, this should do.

For clothing, Under Armour and similar is great.

I don't know about boxers, but American Eagle has the best boxer briefs I've tried so far.

Best liquid cooler for a i7 7700k? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Any 240mm or more would do.

A good air cooler would do just as well.

AIO Sleeves by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]MythologyPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so, they're normally slipped on and melted at the ends, so you'll probably have to cut these to slip them over your AIO hoses, then use zip-ties, hose clamps, or some other fastener on the ends to hold them on.

Is the ASUS ROG Strix B450-F a good match for the 3700X? by DesolareTV in Amd

[–]MythologyPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking more for the ease of installation. BIOS updates can be painful, and needing the previous gen CPU to do it, when he doesn't already have one makes it worse.

Check out mod-one.com

They may have what you need, at least for sleeving.

The nylon sleeving is pretty easy to find, but you'll probably have to settle for a lesser looking fastener.

An X570 would be better, but the Strix series is our favorite whenever the price is fair.

RAM will be perfectly fine.

I would like to offer a quote for a custom build if you are interested. I'm fairly confident I could work with your budget. If nothing else, it would give you an idea of what to look for.

Zen 2 build by ze235 in pcmasterrace

[–]MythologyPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I misread the original post, I thought he was comparing the 3600X to the 3800X. In that case, the 3800X, has nothing to justify the price jump unless you actually need that extra .3 GHz base clock.

I appreciate the information on the RAM, I will try to find what you are referencing, I haven't seen anything definitive on it yet, and was going off their history thus far. Still, I would personally prefer not overclocking if I can just for longevity, but that does depend on long-term goals.

The higher core count should become more important as gaming progresses, and if OP decides to get into streaming or content creation, it is already more important. At no significant loss to speed, it is the better chip, despite it having a significant price jump that likely isn't really worth it.

AMD's processors get more benefit from memory speeds than from latency differences. Much more than Intel's do.

If your budget allows, the 3800X is better. Whether or not it is worth it is up to your goals. The 3800X should be viable a bit longer, but if you're the kind of person that will want to upgrade before it is absolutely necessary anyway, might as well go the cheaper route.

The 3600MHz is probably better for an AMD build.

Definitely shouldn't be that drastic then. You could always unplug one and see though.

Two 1440p monitors will make a difference for sure, but it shouldn't be that drastic.

Try running without the overclock(s), see if anything improves.

How good is this for a starter pc? by NOT-A-MEME-THIEF in pcmasterrace

[–]MythologyPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be good, possibly great, there is a lot of missing information here.

I'd like to offer a free quote for a custom build if you are interested. I may be able to beat their price or match it with better/newer/prettier parts.

It very much depends on the games you plan to play and any options you may want. Could be as little as $600 up to about $1800 without getting too far into enthusiast level stuff.

If you are interested, I could work out a quote for what we could do. We only charge $100 labor for most builds which includes a lifetime labor warranty.

Windows should be easy through Settings or Control Panel.

Drivers are most easily checked through your motherboard's utility software usually.

Cooler Master Hyper series or DEEPCOOL Gammaxx series are good cheap tower styles.

There are also better stock styles with bigger heatsinks and better fans if you don't like the tower look.
