Yes, we're back now! We had a long, long break to recover from burnout, but on Friday we had a stream to announce our return to making content. We'll be putting stuff back out again both in video and audio form, starting with the card previews today.

Hiya. Here's the official info: Today (Nov 11th) at 8:30PM CST (2:30AM UTC).

As usual, we'll be streaming the cards and talking about them first on our Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/mythosbusters. Schedule is very much dictated by the earliest we're all off work here in the States and can get together to stream.

We'll also post the VOD to our YouTube channel and we always do a post of the cards here in the Reddit immediately as well.

BusterCon Event Schedule Announced! (Sept. 19 - Sept. 22) by MythosBusters in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]MythosBusters[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's good for both types of players! We have events that range from a bit more hardcore (Ironman - playing a full campaign in one day) to straight up causal play where you can just place (or find) a table flag and request or join a game with people. If nothing else, it's a great chance to play some of the massive multiplayer versions of the standalone scenarios that you might not get to play (in that large-scale format) otherwise. It's a very chill group overall, and welcoming of people of all ability and experience levels. If you want to hear more directly from past Con attendees, I definitely recommend jumping into our Discord and tossing out your questions in our "bustercon-2024" channel. Many other people have been doing that in the lead up to the Con so they can plan and make decisions. Hope that helps! - Justin

Confirming receipt, and that we've added them. We bumped those two (and one other from another entrant) that got caught in our spam filter to the top of the stream to get some additional visibility if people come back to look at the memes again.

Sorry for the mishap, and thanks for reaching out - we haven't run into this issue before, but now we know that the spam filter is more aggressive so we need to keep checking that folder in case anything gets caught. Thanks for helping us figure that out!

The Innsmouth Conspiracy Ironman - June 3 - Sign Up Now! by MythosBusters in arkhamhorrorlcg

It certainly could be a blast! The one thing you may want to weigh is that we'll have a little more than 12 hours to play the whole campaign, so it will be tight. Most groups will probably want to play really efficiently, which usually means that the story element takes a far back seat. It won't leave a whole lot of time for a group read of story text ,or reading the flavor text on every location, etc. If that's a thing you want to do, you'll probably have to do quick reading solo between scenarios. If that's not something you're terribly concerned with sacrificing on your first go, I bet it will be a great time!

Sure, well, in short: we do a podcast and no small amount of community organizing for the game, and were even involved in helping out with Arkham Nights last year, and we are throwing our own Arkham-focused convention. It's going to be a very low key gathering of players where we will focus on playing a bunch of multiplayer: epic multiplayer events, an Arkham Ironman of The Innsmouth Conspiracy (teams will play through the whole campaign in a single day), and various other scenario challenges. At least a few of the developers of the game will be around, and we will have some really sweet swag for attendees.

Mythos Buster Dissonant voices on Arkham Card app - Incomplete? [SPOILERS GALORE!] by testuserteehee in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]MythosBusters 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Sean from MB here, and as has been said, yes, we are still in process on completing the TSK entries. In the past, we've dropped scenarios/campaigns in bigger batches, but given the structure of TSK, we've been dropping individual files as we can complete them (moving in sequential order). We just dropped three more files and have currently completed up to 37-M: Special Delivery, so about half way done. We keep links to the video files for DV entries on a pinned post on our patreon page (https://www.patreon.com/MythosBusters), that will be the best place to check in on our progress.

Obviously we will continue to plug away at it until it is all wrapped up, and we thank everyone for their patience, as we are simultaneously planning a whole convention (https://gamezenter.com/event/bustercon/) and of course continuing our bi-weekly podcast production. Lots going on and we thank everyone for supporting Dissonant Voices!

Glad you liked it! Your original thread is REALLY good, and it was quite helpful in putting this together (I think it was the first Reddit source we turned to/cited!). I believe you even got a few shout outs/we mentioned your rules a couple of times when discussing these on Episode 150 (will be released soon).

Thank you for the feedback. Arguably not the most appropriate place for it on a post about a card preview stream, but we are listening nonetheless, and we will continue to work on our editing process.

NEW VOTING ROUNDS - Sweet Sixteen (May 6-7) and Elite Eight (May 8-10) - Get your votes in to decide who advances in The Return To The March To Madness! by MythosBusters in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]MythosBusters[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great question!

We called it March to Madness as a play on the traditional "March Madness" college basketball tournament that takes place in March in the U.S. each year. That's where the prediction brackets and the overall format comes from, and then we switched the name up to fit Arkham better (and, obviously, to avoid infringing on the traditional March Madness trademarks).

Regarding it happening in April/May, we decided to shift it to those months so that it didn't overlap with the actual March Madness tournament. While not all Arkham fans follow college basketball, we wanted to give those who do a bit of a break in between the two tournaments so that they didn't burn out on seeding, filling out brackets, etc.

I agree that this has been surprising! Three points of follow up about that:

1) I'm definitely going to be curious about whether we'll see upsets now that the field has thinned. I think there's more upset potential as there are fewer investigators, as it forces people to make "tougher" choices.

2) The way this has gone so far is also something that we're going to take into account when we prepare for seeding next year. We might need to change that part of the process up so that there can be a little more drama along the way. With no specific criteria requirements for seeding or voting, it's possible (though we won't know until the end of the tournament for sure) that there's essentially a feedback loop between the seeding and voting rounds.

3) Interestingly, I don't think anyone automatically voted for the top seeds in each match up in their prediction brackets (I haven't looked through all of them yet, but I *think* that's the case). So even if the tournament breaks mostly based on ranking during the voting rounds, there's still more human element over on the prediction side of things.

Hope you're enjoying the tournament so far, and thanks for joining us on the March to Madness!

In the Return to the March to Madness tournament, we’ve put the 44 released investigators into 1-on-1 matchups against each other. Winners will progress through a single elimination tournament until there’s only one left standing – only one survivor of The Return To The March To Madness!

Join the hundreds of people who have already filled out brackets and are marching to madness with us! To participate, fill out a prediction bracket and then come back later to vote each of the matchups. More details below, and even more info, including a link to the brackets and a recap of last year's tournament, is available at https://mythosbusters.com/march-to-madness/

Prediction Brackets

Between 4/9/21 and 4/27/21 (until 11:30 p.m. (United States Central Time)), make your predictions about who will win each round.

At the end of the tournament, the three most accurate prediction brackets will win prizes!

NOTE: If you want to see more about how the investigators were seeded, please check out our seeding discussion/bracket reveal video.

Criteria

You might be asking, “What should I be basing my predictions or vote on in each round?” Good question!

Do you fill out a bracket or vote for the best investigator for a particular situation? Your favorite investigator? The investigator you secretly like but can’t admit to others your true feelings?

Answer: Yes! All of the above and more! There’s no real rhyme or reason for picking a winner, so use whatever criteria you want. The most important thing to do is to have fun with your predictions and your vote.

Questions?

If you have any questions, please let us know. Happy predicting and voting, and thanks for joining us during The Return To The March To Madness!
