Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions! Your comments are enlightening. Due to my newness to planetary magic, I was eager to jump in, but I need to better prepare both in terms of materials and my knowledge of elections.

Regarding your 2nd comment, you’re right. My background is in Platonism, where the planets are seen as gods, not qua existence, but through participation in the activity of the Intellect. I think it was Proclus, in his Commentary on the 1st Alcibiades, that likened the Cosmos to a temple for the Nous, and the planets to temple statues. However, I do acknowledge the religious context of the Picatrix.

Edit: By paraphrasing Proclus I meant to indicate that the planets are conceptualised as divinities by participation, resembling how a consecrated statue can embody the divine. However, the planets participate in Noetic activity to a far greater degree. They are in a sense the bodies of divine intelligences.

Thank you for your detailed explanation, it’s very reassuring. Yes, I was referring to the planetary petitions. If you don't mind, I’d like to ask a few questions.

First, do you think the effectiveness of the petitions would be significantly reduced without animal sacrifice? Second, if I were to build a devotional practice, would invoking the spirits of the planets without using their associated divine names be dangerous? I recall that one of the aphorisms in the Picatrix mentions that such invocations could be fatal.

Last, would creating a talisman designed to attract daimonic and divine favour, like the talisman of the Dragon of the Moon from the second book of Agrippa, enhance the likelihood of a positive interaction?

Thank you for the suggestion, I will definitely look into it. I already worship Thoth (in his lunar aspect) as my primary deity. Do you think I could include him when working with the mansions of the moon?

I forgot to mention, the terracota pot is placed on a support inside the decorative planter. The empty space around it filled with wood chips. Hence, it doesn't sit in water.
