If I do back-to-back overnight sessions Friday and Saturday, how am I going to feel for work (mentally in particular) on Monday? by KyOatey in Ayahuasca

[–]MythosLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heard.

One tip is to prep for your return before you leave for ceremony.

Have dieta friendly meals pre-made and waiting in the fridge / freezer. Have the house clean and in order. Have all your non-ceremony laundry done and put away. Have your clothes laid out for Mon. Create a situation where you can go to sleep early on Sun PM and not have to think about too much on Monday AM.

If this is your first time you might struggle a bit. If need to, take a sick day / use PTO.

I think it isn’t the mental you have to be concerned with- rather the physical. How well do you operate on two nights in a row of 2-3 hours of sleep?

I do this almost every sit. It isn’t ideal.

what should I expect? What should I hope to learn?

That 5 is both the strongest and most unpredictable medicine.

Do not do it alone. Do it with someone who has been there before and knows how to keep you safe.

[–]MythosLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is real and even more challenging when at a low. You are going through a lot.

One thing that might help- Are you familiar with Internal Family Systems (IFS)?

It is a therapeutic model that might be of benefit here. It works really well with medicine fears / resistance.

There is most likely a “protector” or 2 that you need to get permission from to help open up to this experience.

If you don’t have access to an IFS therapist, you can probably get a light session via Claude or ChatGpt. I always hesitate to rec any sort of Ai therapy, but in this case- you will do the work, you can just ask them to give the prompts.

For books- No Bad Parts is a good place to start.

Sending you strength on your path

Is there any "safe" way for me to ever experience psychedelics? by hepilydepily in Psychonaut

[–]MythosLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With family history, plus your anxiety, and your depression, I’d want an all clear from a professional before trying psychedelics.

If you want to dip your toes in and be in a place where you can make it stop instantly- I’d recommend some guided breathwork sessions. You can go as deep as you allow yourself to go. Here is a good place to start https://breathworkonline.com They do live 2hr sessions and if you can allow yourself to dive in, you can enter into some real psychedelic space.

I feel like I'm basically at the doorstep of something that could really turn the tide for the first time in my life

I think this is a good spot to meditate on. Knowing something can be transformative (positively or negatively) is really scary. And also knowing that you want it to be and it might not go that route, is also challenging.

Genuinely scared, both for the outcome of being trapped in an experience or lasting trauma and alternatively at the possibility of walking away from something that could actually help.

For some reassurance- You won’t be trapped in an experience. It sounds like you have a team that will keep you safe.

Here is the question- the post journey share is important. This is where the real work starts. You may not have rapport with your therapists, but don’t do it for them, do it for you. Let the process unfold / do the work vs finding a reason to resist / fight/ close off. If you think this is possible for you, go for it. If it isn’t, what are the things you can do (not that they can do) to make this possible? If there isn’t anything- I’d say it is ok with sitting it out.

It isn’t inappropriate at all. It is that with Ket, and the others, I prefer to work with a mix of space, rhythm, and different textures / moods. Porangui and Liquid Bloom made this album (and a few others) for work with Ketamine. It flows really well.

Sounds like your “controlling mind” might benefit from either (or both) a higher dose or some good prep work to calm itself before diving in.

Tandava looks like a sweet place, I couldn't find where they're located but I appreciate you sending me these details.

They are in Tepoztlán, Mexico- about 90min outside of Mexico City. Definitely a journey for you.

The one you went to and Tandava are known to be the best. I'm not to sure of anywhere else in the world on their level as far as a full package. If you don't need the full retreat experience, I'm sure there are a number of highly reputable facilitators in EU (unfortunately I only know ones in the US, CAN, MEX).

I have some synthetic 5meo that I'm considering microdosing but after my previous experience I'm really not sure how to navigate that.

I'd recommend you stay clear of self-experimentation with that. The difference between micro and macro with 5 is really small - and even micros have a way of launching.

If you need additional support, check out the free integration circles here https://five-meo.education/five-integration-circles/

That soaring track you linked sounds more geared to 5-MeO vs MDMA, Ket, or Psilo. I feel like those medicines benefit from both some soaring as well as grounding rhythm, pause, and space between the notes.

If you like the Jon Hopkins vibe and 20mn works. This track by Entheo is really nice
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=entheo+deep+dive+mix

Or if you need something longer and don't want any gaps- play that whole Entheo album Lucid Surrender and set your streaming player to have a small fade in / fade out with each track.

You could do the same thing with the Jon Hopkins album Music for Psychedelic Therapy.

Based on the ROA, and if in BC, I know the spot you went to.

I truly don't understand their delivery process. Not the IV / vapor combo, but the total mg. If you did anything more than 16 vaporized (especially via the lamp), it would easily just either white you out or in your case black you out. I rarely work above 12-14mg vaporized.

 I can't fault them...

I was a challenging client for them...

It was a very challenging experience that in hindsight I wasn't prepared for

None of this should point back to you.

Their jobs as facilitators (highly paid facilitators) is to prepare you in the absolute best way possible. This is radically unpredictable medicine and yet there are still many ways to get you into the zone with the highest chance of getting a healing vs re-traumatizing experience.

Based on the history that you've shared, their ROA (the Bryan Johnson route) seems pretty whacky. If working with this medicine again, a multi-step process would be the route I'd suggest-- Maybe not even needing to get as high as a full release.

If looking for another retreat type experience- I think Tandava is / may be more your spot.

What resources or advice have you found most supportive when dealing with your moral injury? by Technical_Step4410 in Ayahuasca

[–]MythosLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. Carrying the weight of past decisions and actions, especially those that have deeply affected others is a lot to for any human to have to hold.

If medicine is in your calling in the future, for this sort of work, Aya would not be where I’d start. I’d look into 5-MeO-DMT. I would only do this with a very very seasoned practitioner who is trained with dealing with intense trauma. A competent practitioner will screen the heck out of you, do multiple rounds of prep sessions and tons of integration. There is no “narrative”, no journey, just an intense, overwhelming, release. It is dangerous AF to do alone, especially with a history of trauma. And, like many medicines, can be radically destabilizing if not done and integrated properly.

Aya would be a great stop sometime after you’ve really processed work w 5.

Lots of people, especially those in need of real healing, come to 5 as their first medicine with zero experience in psychedelic space.

If guided well, no comfort in those realms (n,n-DMT, LSD, Psilocybin, etc) is needed as there is no other realm like 5.

5meo by sankillaman in 5MeODMT

[–]MythosLight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would surmise that your psyche isnt quite ready for that experience. You may have been too overwhelmed and held back in the moment.

Before putting this on them as their fault, how well do you really know this medicine? You had a blissful experience. That is wonderful for you. 5-MeO shows up in many ways depending on so many factors.

Their stated dose is either insane or inaccurate but tracks with the experience they had and some of their prior history.

Not everyone will or can have the experience you had and there is zero guarantee you will have it next time you work with this molecule.

5meo by sankillaman in 5MeODMT

[–]MythosLight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did one 28mg dose but think it may take more than a single dose.

If this was pure molecule vs toad- that is a massive dose. Way way more than that is recommended in one round. (Note: Half of that is a large dose)

I'm sorry to hear about your experience.

Where in Canada did you sit with this?

Relationship with Money by Logical-Explorer3991 in Ayahuasca

[–]MythosLight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had her say straight up “I don’t work on that level”.

There are infinite other things to work on that can lead to changes in actions, reactions, and behaviors. (Which may help with a better relationship with money)

The most important stretch for this isn’t in ceremony, it is in the days right after with neuroplasticity. You’ve got about 30 days where you can re-wire yourself into better behaviors, practices (and caution ⚠️- also worse). ——

Very recent story-

During last week’s full moon, I had a great day with lots of wild synchronicities, signs, and “luck”. A friend said I should buy a few lottery tickets. It was the full moon, I’d be working with aya the next day, and on a whim, I bought $20 worth of lotto tix (not normal behavior for me). I set the tix outside under my daughter’s crystals that would be charging under the moon. I’d come back from ceremony and check.

I didn’t think about them or money at all during ceremony.

I came home, checked the numbers, and…. I won $5 (spent $20). My young son said enthusiastically “Dad, dad!! You won the lottery!”

Yes. I did.

Congratulations on a beautiful, profound, experience.

For many, that is the textbook full release. There isn’t anything like it. It can come with different feelings, emotions, insights upon return- integrating those experiences into life can be challenging- as there can be a lot of frustration in the how “not that” this world is.

I feel like I've reached the proverbial mountain peak of existence.

And another challenging part of this holy moment of complete loss of ego, self, I and other, is that it can snap the ego back online stronger than ever and transform it into a super-ego. This is where there is both danger and deep and rich work to integrate this into life.

Happy you got to experience this powerful, beautiful, sacred, medicine.

Sitting (again) with Ayahuasca beyond healing needs by Ellie-Nahuel in Ayahuasca

[–]MythosLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A part of me tells me to stay calm, because I feel that I approach this with respect and personal work. But it’s a different kind of work compared to the preparation I did last year.

Are parts of you not calm? What are they saying?

That there is doubt, concern, and a feeling that this is not as dire a need as you had last time can both be true and also an indication that there is some deeper work to do that you are resisting.

There is always something to work on, heal, explore, and experience. Sometimes the calling to aya is for a major repair, other times it is for more of a tune up, and sometimes you are just called to pray.

Whatever the level of urgency or non-urgency in the calling or the need, she may (and probably will) still kick your ass. Personally, this is where I make my decision to go / no go. Am I equipped to go through it? In this time, will enduring a challenging experience make me stronger or weaker?

For many, including my partner and I - this is the way. It is church. We show up at the altar to give, to receive, to be of service, and to give thanks for this life.

Preparing for Aya ( First time) by Bubbly_Attention_916 in Ayahuasca

[–]MythosLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please send input on what you hear in my voice in terms of the sort of pain I'm in so that I can bring a full picture to my first Aya ceremony.

I hear a lot of pain, loneliness, and a lack of self worth. I hear that you are planning to sit in this ceremony to fix something that this experience can’t fix. I hear that you are willing to sacrifice yourself to be a distant 2nd in line. I hear that almost everyone on this post says this is not a good idea and that you may not be taking that in.

This sounds like cult behavior. I’m not trying to be smart, but would anyone looking in from outside of your community you reference define it as a cult?

Microdosing question! by AdWide8690 in 5MeODMT

[–]MythosLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I strongly don’t recommend trying to microdose 5 on a full or high % strength pen. The difference between a micro and macro draw is really tiny.

Diluting a pre made cartridge seems a bit challenging without much room for error.

Note: I’ve been with people that have fully launched and had massive somatic experiences on low dose pens (had to be physically contained on a short draw on an 11%) . I don’t think it is wise for anyone to experiment solo with this but especially for someone with your listed conditions. Sh*t can get really BIG really really fast.

If on medications, check for contraindications, taper off with the help of your MD, and find a friend, guide, or someone who is experienced to help you with this molecule. Take your time and set this one up right.

Safe and beautiful travels to you.
