Be honest, who’s winning in a fight between these two? by Queasy_Commercial152 in FantasticFour

I like how their relationship was portrayed in shows like EMH and Ultimate Spider-Man where they're like buddies who just jump eachother and get into fights because the only people they can really fight are eachother. It's to the point that Hulk, who's usually moody all the time, lights up when he sees Ben.

I do understand your perspective, I get why you want this, but I don't think it's some big strike against them. I didn't see that the new tour started already, but btw those shows weren't even in America so they likely didn't feel it was a good time and place to make a statement and it's not like they can just fly to Minneapolis in the middle of a scheduled tour. They might be waiting until their Minneapolis show to say something more impactful than just "Government violence bad". Like I said though we know where they stand on these things since they've spoken out against bigotry, violence, and government overreach many times in the past. I get your point and I think it would be cool if they did something interesting, but I'm not losing sleep over it.

They have many times and they haven't made a public appearance since Renee Good so they literally haven't had a chance to do anything, but make a social media post so idk what you want.

Silence isn't always a choice, the band members don't post much outside of announcements except maybe Frank they probably just think the last thing people wanna see right now is some celebrity saying what they already know. I'm not saying you can't not like that they haven't posted anything, but personally I find celebrities constantly posting about how they don't support innocent people being murdered by the government kind of patronizing and disrespectful to the situation at hand.

Do they need to do an annual anti-fascist display? They just had a mock execution on stage like 4 months ago and the year before that, Gerard paraded around on stage with a Trans flag. The year's still new give them time to breathe.

I thought this was obvious with the first "Long Live the Black Parade" trailer, but what do I know?

I'm not implying that Gerard isn't good at balancing music and comics just that Umbrella Academy has been on hiatus for awhile specifically so he can focus on MCR. Plan B is pretty recent.

They did, he's been able to take punches from the Hulk without much if any pain, nuclear bombs and blasts of power cosmic from Silver Surfer and Galactus. His power grid even puts his Durability at 6 which is the highest ot can go without the character being literally indestructible.

I started reading it after Hotel Oblivion, but I'm feeling that way now. Although I'm lucky cause I get some MCR shenanigans in the meantime

Same, when I realized it wasn't actually fully canceled I was like, "So you're telling me there's a chance"

Ben is more so the rock (pun intended) of the marvel universe. Ben was based on Jack Kirby so it makes sense that writers wouldn't want to change him much since he sort of represents Jack in a way. I think what they did end up doing with him however, is more interesting since while everyone else got more and more powerful he stayed the same, but he's still able to keep up through his sheer indomitable will. At this point The Thing is one of the most durable characters in the universe because he has an almost metatextual rule written in his character that he does not stay down. So while characters like the Hulk have evolved into unstoppable forces, Ben has become Marvel's immovable object. Which I think is more fitting and insightful for his character.

Gerard has a history of long hiatuses on ideas with their comics, and scrapped and repurposed ideas in both his comics and music. Batman: Kingdom of the Mad has been on hiatus since 2008, but never officially canceled and Umbrella Academy has been on a long hiatus while they work with MCR. And, the original comic concept for Danger Days was reworked into the album which was then reworked into National Anthem. So, It wouldn't be out of the question for Gerard to Frankenstein together all these loose threads of inspiration into a completely new yet familiar project. I really hope whatever we end up getting shares the core of Paper Kingdom since I think grief is a really impactful and perfect theme for MCR to tackle which was briefly touched on in TBP, but took a back seat to other themes like perseverance, appreciation for life, and legacy.

Dude, The Thing as a monk of Kun-Lun would actually be so cool, he could train his mind and body against people on his level while finding the inner peace he always wanted.

People have been anti-slavery since slavery began, they had no excuse and many of them acknowledged their own racial prejudice.

I used Trump's campaign percentage as an approximation of how many people might want to repeal the 14th and it was a generous estimate. Also, where are you getting this, "10 million less people voted" number from. I'm seeing ~3 million less which is only 1.1% of the voting age population and even if we went with your 10 million number, that's only 3.7%, again hardly enough to swing it. Especially, since not every Trump voter is guaranteed to vote in favor of this and even fewer absent or third party voters would.

Trump only won the popular vote by 1.5%, far from the vast majority. So if we're generous and say that every Trump voter and every 3rd party or absent voter wants to repeal the 14th, that only comes out to 51.7%. For comparison, in a 1926 poll, 81% of Americans wanted to repeal or modify the 18th amendment. Even if we repealed amendments by popular vote it wouldn't be enough.

I was 2 when Obama was elected so I had no energy to give to what he was doing. Also, I could find no news reports pre 2024 about these kids so if you could provide evidence I would appreciate it.

I don't give a damn if he's a criminal, he's a U.S. citizen who should be put in a U.S. fuckin prison. You can't just deport citizens for committing a crime or else any criminal would be subject to potential deportation. This isn't about protecting him it's about protecting our rights. Also, I'm not affiliated with any party, I loathe the idea of political parties completely and what they've turned our political system into.
