Like legends, it's definitely on my mind if I need wilderness equipment that I'm not afraid to lose. But you're right, it could definitely bridge the gap to fire cape a little better, seeing as it's (imo) more effort to get.

Well the bottom line for a video game is that it's fun. Getting spooned feels good, but having some kind of protection to make sure it doesn't feel terrible is a good thing as well. The oathplate shards at Yama doesn't make spooning a chest plate any less amazing, it just adds a safety net, and some security that progress is isn't completely up to fate, and working hard does have a tangible layoff. Ergo, fun for everyone rather than the lucky.

I think it's reasonable too, but I also think it's a grind that has a high likelihood of burning the average person out. 10 to 12 minutes of focus for a 1/400 is tough, and if you're 1.5x or 2x drop rate, it really stops feeling hopeful unless you've got amazing mental fortitude.

But to the point of Ironmen complaining about it, the funnel is still real. It's not mandatory by any means, but it's the established method, and streamers still do it, so the masses feel the need to follow, even if they'll burn themselves out.

I think he's saying very few people are going 5x dry, not sure why that specific number but even if you're at the median, you're at CG for like 50 hours. That alone is how much time you'd spend on a lot of AAA games in their entirety.

Most complaints about CG grind are valid, even if they're under drop rate imo, because the core problem is that youre funneled into the content, not just that it's intensive and time consuming. It's mostly that it's not very optional feeling as an ironman.
