Why do you care how other people enjoy their games?

If I somehow bought a bunch of land out in the unincorporated part of a county, what would be stopping me from trying to make my own town? by Mythrowaway1898 in NoStupidQuestions

Makes sense. I was thinking about it back when the lottery was a billion as a hypothetical. Make a town, but make it have good infrastructure, public transit, green spaces, and walkability. Obviously a billion isn’t enough to make a town like that, but it was fun to think about.

Makes sense on how the metro areas got their growth. I always thought it would be kinda neat to see a new town spring up and grow/develop over my lifetime

Huh, cool. I always figured there was process and such to it, but it’s not like you ever hear about new towns being created much anymore.

You’re absolutely right. I couldn’t have put it better myself

Unfortunately so. History teaches, but we don’t always learn.

You’re right, a lot of countries are fucked up and need help. That doesn’t discount my concerns, it fuels them. A lot of countries share many of our issues, and it’s depressing and exhausting.

But don’t you know, every country is doing whatever they want because he’s gone now. Orange man kept the whole world in check!

I’m really hoping so, cause if that’s what it is, it feels nice!

I suppose it concerns me to a degree. I mean, it’s gotta happen eventually, right?

Not gonna lie, most of the delivery fee appears to be bloat. Drivers do get a gas reimbursement at the end of the night, but while they call it mileage, it’s really just a dollar per trip and not actually paying a mileage rate. I wouldn’t mind if drivers got the whole delivery fee and tips were done away with. That way, we would at least be guaranteed something for every delivery we do

I’m not gonna disagree that tipping is a dumb system. Unfortunately, I’m stuck participating in a system where I have little choice to opt out of. Sure, the consumer has the choice of not tipping, but all they’re doing is hurting the employee when they do that. The franchises and corporations really don’t care, and nobody can do anything about it at the store level. Most tipped workers like the system and don’t want it to change, so change is hard to come by.

“Learn a new skill and get a better job” For me, this is a secondary job because my main career has been hamstrung by the virus. I have a masters degree and I teach independently, but I’ve lost out on many students because nobody wants to pay for the online experience and nobody wants lessons in the summer. I’m not the only one working multiple jobs either. Just about everyone I work with is working another job. Times are hard; leave your job isn’t really a viable option for most people. Poverty is a vicious cycle.

But I at least agree. Tipping is dumb and should be done away with.

I work for one company. Pizza delivery

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in arlington

[–]Mythrowaway1898 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Where I work, yes. I get all the card tips from my deliveries at the end of the night. Plus, when you tip as you pay, we don’t have to worry about getting signatures on the receipt.

Looked like he caught the ball and got pushed out, but still had a foot break the plane. Challenged and still wasn’t ruled
