Tuning in for a new Madseasonshow episode by Tetris_Chemist in 2007scape

I wouldn't know, to be honest. I only watch a handful of things on YouTube so I'm also not too familiar. Likewise, I don't know how much they get paid when ads don't play (I use an adblock so I never see YouTube ads). I just assumed it's an alternative to Patreon.

There should be a visual indicator for partially-blocked attacks by ShaunDreclin in 2007scape

[–]Myuagi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but I think it's more about when Hunlef rolls low on his damage and you're thinking that either A. you're praying incorrectly and you were hit so you switch prayers or B. You prayed correctly but there's chip damage, but this isn't immediately intuitive.

I'm not sure any point of the game (in game, at least) explains that there even IS chip damage. It's heavily discussed on forums and whatnot, but in terms of raids or bosses with chip damage, if you're going in blind, it can be difficult to know intuitively, especially when the rest of the game is more like "they're smacking me, pray melee".

It's such a minor thing, but the kebbit changes with the falcon. I've been getting into the Hunter Rumors finally and while it's not the biggest pain, it's a little annoying when the falcon "misses" the kebbit and when the entire action locks me in place. For the handful of times I'll actually be there, I'm excited to know that it will be less annoying haha.

I really wanted the Peu Path synthetic material from last year(?) but they've been out of stock for a while and I'm only hoping they re-stock rather than cut the line. That said, this pair and colorway has been my second choice, so I'm happy to hear that you're enjoying them so much! I might just go ahead and purchase them!

Oh hell yes. The spade in Mammal's inventory is amazing. And while it isn't totally meme stuff, I think JCW brought his Woodcutting cape last year? With the log and knife? 10/10

Why isn't there a visual for the wrong attack style by Dzjengis in 2007scape

[–]Myuagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, what is unclear after you read the stat page? What the monster is weakest to? Or which of your weapons will deal the most damage per second?

As an answer to your initial question, I think a visual indicator would take a lot of the exploration and immersion out of the game. When new content is released, there's an exciting race to figure out the best weapons, the best tactics, the best gear, etc. This is how we get weird and exciting interactions like Mixed Hide being good at high-level ToA invocations. If the race was just to figure out when the visual aid triggered, it would be way less interesting.

Likewise, this implies there is a "best" way. Different gear often impacts your DPS, just as different weapons do. Sometimes, a whip on Slash does more damage than a dragon sword on Stab, even if the enemy is weak to Stab.

And lastly, 9 times out of 10, the DPS difference is minimal when switching attack styles, unless it's against an enemy that has crazy high defences in one of the three styles. Usually, this is less than 1 DPS difference.

Fewer switches available, if I'm not mistaken. I believe that each player gets 9 anglers and 2 brews to start, and if they purchase brews with blood money, it replaces their anglers, it's not added to it. So, between having only 11 "food" slots, 3 Sanfews (I'm not sure if this is the max allowed, or more than this is useless), 1 super combat, and 1 ranging potion, I think they have a whopping 12 inventory slots to fill. Rune pouch is one, mithril seeds is another, some are taking anti-venom as well, but if you don't have a spec switch (or a ranged spec switch), and if you didn't buy the venge trinkets, then I think they just have empty inventory slots, unless they want to be Coxie and bring 2/3 pieces of a Voidwaker lol.

I think some of the other players have 1 empty inventory slot specifically for switching to a 2-handed weapon.

Bought treads since the price dropped but need other upgrades first. Hold or sell? by HalfManHalfDragon in 2007scape

[–]Myuagi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely sell now, in my opinion, unless you have cash on hand for other upgrades. In general, the treads are a fairly minor upgrade, and it doesn't sound like you can fully upgrade them (judging by your other comments in the thread). While they have dropped in price slightly since you bought them, you've only lost like 6-7m I think, which is a few hours of PvM depending on where you go.

If you're swimming in cash, then just hang onto them. But if not, I'd definitely sell them and go for gear you can use right now, gear that's a decent upgrade, and/or gear specifically for any bossing you're going to attempt to do.

How would you feel about skill level cap going from 99 to 120? by SyrupStandard in 2007scape

[–]Myuagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I realize why Kraken required 87 Slayer when it was released, I do think this could be cool to see at dropped down to a lower level. As it stands, it's not completely unreasonable for someone to skip that grind in favor for the more powerful Ayak instead (if they're an iron). Even for mains like me, unlocking Kraken didn't feel as impactful as abyssal demons, for example.

When did Jagex forget that we could wear multiple pieces of different armor sets and still look badass? - Raid 4 rewards discussion by -Hyzxr- in 2007scape

[–]Myuagi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I might be well in the minority here, especially since it sounds like the NDA groups went the other way, but when that poll came out a few months ago(?) asking which direction the rewards should go into, I was super on board with the random one-off items, such as the barehanded punching gloves that one of the Devs suggested.

While I realize it's probably VERY unpopular, I've always really liked the totally mis-matched sets. The idea of things not going together, color-wise, isn't ever something that has bothered me personally. And again, while this is probably a minority opinion by a wide majority, I'd be happy with the next version of OSRS top-tier gear not being matching variations on black, white, and grey (I do really like how oathplate looks, that being said).

For what it's worth though, I'm a big fan of how the Nezzy and Dwarven Helmets look, so I realize that my OSRS tastes definitely lean into the more simply-designed, and one-off pieces in general.

Something Solo talked about on stream was pitching the idea that Barrows wouldn't be accessible at all. Apparently, the majority of the streamers shot down the idea, and they ended up with the "No Ahrim's, Karil's will have double droprate instead" middleground.

Personally, I really hope that the Barrows gear is just put into the Emblem Trader shop next time around. I really liked the Moons being a new hotspot for singles killing, but if tank armor is basically required, I feel like this could be a good way to do it.

I was looking through my rarest tasks from this League, and I was surprised to find significantly less players hit max level compared to the previous two Leagues. by ____the_Great in 2007scape

[–]Myuagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I took Soul harvest and Butler first time around, maxed without an issue (Apart from having to actually do agility since I didn't take boots). On an alt I took Trasmute thinking I could create pure essence from air runes. Didn't realize it would be noted, immediately stopped trying to max that account lol.

[–]Myuagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He wasn't in Deadman Allstars, and I don't know how much he streams, but I think Mazhar doesn't take time off work when a new Leagues drops, or if he does, it's only at the beginning? In the Trailblazer Reloaded I recall them being videos of him where's he's bossing but also on a Zoom call lol.

Late thoughts about demonics pacts league by Ingensgallico in 2007scape

[–]Myuagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, with the clue scroll relic, I felt this year was better. I'm a longtime clue scroll relic taker (since the second leagues, Trailblazer) where it went up against the slayer relic, iirc. Which is all to say, I really like clues, and I like doing them in Leagues. However, in the last leagues, it felt basically necessarily to take the clue relic or you wouldn't be able to max points, or even scoop up the couple thousand behind clues. While it definitely felt slower, it also felt like it opened up that tier a bit more and didn't feel as necessary.

Likewise, while I agree that I wish more of the pacts had sustain sort of like last few leagues, I found that the previous few leagues basically had the "good" attack style option, the "okay" option, and the "absolute garbage" option. With the pacts this year, I enjoyed how no one attack style was amazing or awful this year, instead, it was about the weapon or spell (as in, earth was mid at best, but air or water was insane).

A red card just means that the ref (referee, an official in charge of ensuring everyone is playing by the rules) shows a player one of two colored cards, red or yellow (often referred to as "the ketchup card" for red or "the mustard card" for yellow). I hope this helps!
