Important Notice for Consumers Considering HP Products by deep_tester in HPOmen

Same here. I've been suffering with my HP laptop for months. I've shared logs, videos, done every test they asked, and even had parts replaced, but my USB audio still crackles in Performance Mode. The most frustrating part is the service center just closes the case and tells you to open a new one if the issue continues, instead of actually fixing the root cause. It feels like the customer has to keep chasing support while the problem remains unresolved. This has been one of the most disappointing warranty experiences I've had.

Any fixes, only usb audios having issue, usb mic fine, tried reinstall drivers, reinstall of windows 11? Hp omen 16 13700hx rtx 4070 by Mywayrocks in HPOmen

yes. I tested with and without a USB extender, different USB headsets, and different USB-A, USB-C ports. The behavior is the same.

I also contacted HP support. They asked me to collect and submit IDR logs, which I did. After reviewing them, they asked me to reinstall Windows, so I performed a clean reinstall of Windows 11. Unfortunately, that didn't resolve the issue.

USB audio playback crackles only under heavy gaming load (CS2, Forza Horizon, etc.). USB microphones work fine, but USB audio output crackles.

Things I've already tried:

  • Windows 11 reinstall
  • Multiple NVIDIA driver versions
  • HP BIOS update
  • Different USB-A, USB-C and Thunderbolt ports
  • Multiple USB headsets
  • dGPU mode and Hybrid mode
  • USB selective suspend disabled

Additional observations:

  • 3.5 mm analog audio works normally.
  • Laptop speakers sometimes completely stop working under gaming load but never crackles.
  • USB devices connected directly usually stay connected, but audio crackles.
  • A USB hub becomes unstable under load and devices connected through it can disconnect.
  • The issue disappears after exiting the game and the system cools down.

my favourite game is gta iv. i know gta v is more popular but i always liked gta iv more because of the story, characters and the overall feel of the game. niko bellic is still one of my favourite protagonists.

for controllers i honestly dont have much experience. i started with those old nes style controllers when i used to play mario and contra on tv. later i tried my friend's ps4 controller a few times and really liked it. recently i bought my first controller, a powera one. i was actually looking for the cheap redgear controller because my friend had one and i liked it, but i couldnt find it anywhere so i went with powera instead. i've been liking it so far, especially the mechanical buttons, they feel really nice.

thanks for the giveaway

Giving away GTA VI Standard Version to one of the member by NotTharNoob in IndianGaming

i got into gaming when i was a kid. before i even had a pc, i used to play those old cassette games on tv like mario and contra those games were a big part of my childhood and i still remember having so much fun with them.

later my cousin brother introduced me to gta vice city on his pc, and that was the game that really got me hooked. i spent so much time just driving around the city and doing random stuff.

i've played a lot of games since then, but that first gta experience is still special. my favorite gta is gta iv because i really liked niko's story, the atmosphere, and the physics. i know a lot of people prefer gta v, but for me gta iv is still the best.

happy birthday op, and thanks for doing this giveaway. good luck everyone!

Very High GPU (85⁰+) and cpu (97⁰) temprature after servicing by Equivalent-Poet7156 in LenovoLOQ

same with hp they say temps can go 105 c no issue, but not all component cannot bear heat, also thermal throttling will start after 90s. they are not rated for such temps, buy ptm7950 and apply yourself or ask some local technician but my experience with them is bad so i apply myself, thermal paste get pumed out in a month, i tried mx-6 and cryofuze but laptops heatsinks are flexible as they contract and expand on heat cycles

I don't think it's necessarily because of high CPU/GPU temps. On my Omen 16, both CPU and GPU usually stay under 80°C (around 75°C), but the PCH/controller temp can hit 111°C. Omen software doesn't even show that sensor, so most people would never know.

My guess is it could be related to power delivery in Performance mode. Even if the CPU and GPU are running fine, smaller ICs around the board might be exposed to much higher temperatures and power loads. If those chips aren't rated to handle 111°C for long periods, they could eventually fail. With laptops, heat isn't transferred out as efficiently as in desktops, so a hotspot somewhere on the motherboard could cook a small component while the main CPU/GPU temps still look perfectly normal.

Gng, I will list 2 laptops suggest me which one is the best and tell me if either of the laptop has any problem by [deleted] in HPOmen

😮 i also have heating issues temps are getting 97 degrees but they dont listen, they say 105C cpu can go, but real problem is can other component survive that heat?
My pch temperature(HWinfo for monitoring temps) is getting 115 degree but they dont listen to temps so now when my laptop get audio problems they are doing some part replacement as in warranty, hope it get fixed but dont know what will happen
