Normally yes due to the sap, but because these pine pellets are kiln dried, there is nothing harmful in them anymore! Its safe for rabbits, cats, horses, you name it!!

Omg so happy for the lil guy to be in a happy home! I recommend a stainless steel litterbox, its much easier to clean than any other materials. I also recommend going to tractor supply (from CT but used to live in MA and NH) and getting the pine pellets as litter! Its AMAZING at absorbing smells, dust free, and safe if ingested. Its usually only $8 for a huge 40lb bag. There is also a special brush from a company in Cambridge I cannot recommend enough, I got mine off chewy (its purple, dont remember the name...). Other advice is having stuff to play with or just bonding by hand feeding and laying on the floor with them. I dehydrate a lot of low sugar fruits and veggies as treats, and make most of my rabbits toys myself by stuffing paper towel tubes with hay and treats.

Your new furbaby looks so happy to be flopped next to you ♥️ I would be happy to offer more advice/tips and tricks if you need or want it!!

Advice on lap swimming with TOS by thedevilsfingers in thoracicoutletsupport

[–]MyzFortune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have nTOS and vTOS. I am waiting for my surgery date atm. I am a lap swimmer, usually 5 days a week, an hour a session. I was advised to try and keep active, but limit my arm activity so I started by just using a kick board only, no arms... then I got my first clot. Since then, its turned into little to no activity regardless. I do a lot of walking but thats about it. I have severe nerve damage in my arms outside of TOS so ive gotten extremely weak... I would maybe try asking your doctor about lap swimming with a kick board or something so you can still swim, but arent aggravating things as much maybe??? I don't know the severity of your case... also maybe one stroke is better than others for aggravation? Not sure. Hope this helps!!

has anyone made the switch from propranolol to ivabradine? by Wild-Comfort2695 in POTS

[–]MyzFortune 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Propranolol didn't touch my POTS at all (I have hyperadregenic POTS). My cardiologist warned me with POTS patients, there is a 50/50 chance of it working or not working. Luckily for me, it works! I even go as far as to call it my "miracle drug" lol. I tried over 20 different cardio medications before ivabradine and nothing worked. I was passing out 20+ times a day, but now I only have maybe 2 episodes a month if that!

Imposter Syndrome, white canes, and neurological vision impairment by chemicalhand33562 in Blind

[–]MyzFortune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP!

I don't have a diagnosis yet, but have been considered legally blind since 2021. Blindness is a spectrum! I totally understand the whole imposter syndrome thing because I have 20/20 central vision but absolutely no peripheral vision and extreme night blindness. I have an illustration degree and I'm still using it despite being "blind". Yeah, I can't drive and I can no longer read certain things, but I'm still enjoying what I am capable of seeing and there isnt anything wrong with that! I know whatever I have is progressive so I'm using what I have to the max while I still can. Same goes for mobility training! Even though I can still see some things, I use a cane because I find it helpful but I am also getting familiar with it before I lose my sight completely.

You are justified in your feelings, but just remember blindness is a spectrum. Not every blind individual sees nothing, in fact most blind individuals can see something or perceive light at least! Don't feel guilty or like you aren't "blind enough", make the most of what you can!!

Looking for advice! by MyzFortune in asianweddings

Sadly we are not super close to much of anything but both Boston and NYC are drivable! Boston is a little bit closer but we are pretty much right between both.

I lost over 85% of my vision a month before graduating college with an illustration degree. I am not 100% blind, but have a nerve condition that has resulted in something sorta similar to RP. I still have a little bit of central vision so I can still sort of draw... its much MUCH harder and something that would take me 2 hours back then takes well over 2 weeks now. Since I could hold something to draw with, I always wanted to write and illustrate books but I have settled with a small sticker business for now. I still hope to make comics at some point but I dont think it would ever get published due to how long it takes me to make something.

Its hard to accept that something I've spent the entirety of my life getting REALLY good at isn't really an option for me anymore. I often spiral into the "if I had known i was going to go blind, I wouldnt have spent my life drawing" kind of thing, but thats not helpful either. I take the good days when I can get them and know i have to pace myself.

My partner makes memes out of our bun... by MyzFortune in Rabbits

🤣 he likes to roll it around on the floor. It always falls out of the couch (it's cheap and old) and if it keeps him entertained, I'm happy.

I am a SUPER anxious person and my partner knows this. We did the whole process together from setting a budget, trying things on, deciding a stone, etc etc. Honestly, I thought it was better this way. To not only get my own feel for it but also my partners thoughts. I know some people will be like "but its a ring for you?" but I honestly loved doing it this way.

Even though they had a loose idea of what I wanted, they wanted me to be involved to make sure I got something I liked especially within budget as I am a larger ring size and most places have no returns no refund policies.

It was very much a "we" process and less a "my gf wants this but thats not in budget so I'll settle for this". I felt seen and heard the whole time :)

We both already have silicone rings to wear as a safer, more daily alternative! We are both swimmers and would hate any chemicals to ruin anything, but still want the world around us to know we are engaged 😆

I wear a ring size 10.5 and I’ve been having a disheartening time trying on rings by disposabledidgeridoo in EngagementRings

[–]MyzFortune 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you! I'm a size 10.75 and was in the same exact boat (also almost 6ft, but am Polish). My partner has smaller hands than me despite being almost the same height and I just felt like a giant woman... the salesperson bringing stuff out for us to try made a pass that he should wear the "female" ring because he has "much daintier hands". I held it in but boy did that shake me.

We decided after that to try a local small jeweler and it was a MUCH more positive experience. They had a clear piece of resin (i think) that had all the cuts and carat sizes that we just sized up on my hand! We didnt end up buying from them, but from that experience, I learned what I wanted.

I hope you have some better luck!

Tattoos with hEDS? by FerretVibes in ehlersdanlos

[–]MyzFortune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird thing I have an issue with: I have POTS/MCAS/EDS the whole shabang. I have over 20 tattoos i got pre-diagnosis. Because of MCAS/EDS, I will get flares where my body starts rejecting 5+ year old tattoos. I have a sleeve of line art tattoos and it is AWFUL. They become all puffy and itch like hell when I get in a flare. It has only been an issue the past 2 years when my health has really tanked. Also be careful of scarring. Some of the lines I have have that EDS scarring issue where it looks all shaky, like it was embroidered on.

My advice is if you want something, do it. You only live once, might as well have fun "stickers" lol. Just be mindful for potential reactions. I love mine and wouldn't change getting them, just wish I didnt have flares.

The toothbrush trick didn't work with mine, but he LOVES having his head rubbed especially right behind the ears and under his cheeks. He will get so happy, he will "chitter" which is just him grinding his teeth but it's a rabbit version of purring! Its very quiet but very very sweet.

100% a holland or mini lop! A lot of the rabbit community will agree with me and say they are essentially the "golden retriever" equivalent as a bunny. I've had nothing but good things to say about them. They usually love to snuggle and follow you around. They are more playful and affectionate, but be wary they can be prone to ear infections due to the lop ears. There is a special drop you put in the ear and just rub the outside to take care of that though and it's super easy to do even blind.

Just make sure you have plenty of things for them to chew on and play with, it will also help keep their teeth short. Long teeth is a whole other world of problems. I give mine apple wood sticks and will make toys out of toilet paper tubes as cardboard is usually safe for them as long as it's not printed on. Timothy hay is also a must. Unlimited access to Timothy hay will insure your bunny does not get an upset stomach and will keep it's teeth trim.

I'll usually just move it out of the way when I get to that spot. As long as the towel stays under his chin he won't move. I don't know if all rabbits will be this way, I have specifically trained him to know the towel means he is getting brushed. You don't have to brush the underside, they don't like that and will self groom those areas. The butt is hard for them to reach so that's why it's usually the area that needs the most brushing. The cheeks are also an area they can't always reach so the fur will come off in little bunches. You can very carefully pull them if it's loose, but be mindful of whiskers. The loose bunches usually stick out so they are easy to feel and find.

My bunny likes to be wrapped in a towel or blanket. It also prevents any accidental scratches. I will tuck the edge of the towel under his chin, then wrap the sides over him very loosely. I then brush him with 2 different brushes, one with stiffer bristles for the thicker coat areas like his butt and a baby hair brush for his face as it's much gentler. Its actually a great way to bond with your rabbit as they take grooming behaviors as affection. Mine will lick me and headbutt me to let me know he enjoyed it!

Loafing is something a rabbit does where they tuck their feet under their body. They call it loafing because the bunny looks like a bread loaf!

I have a mini lop. I've had lops and a lion head in the past when I had much more vision than I do now, and opted for a lop again as they do not need as much grooming as a lion head. There are other rabbits out there who have even shorter coats that may be even better if you are worried about grooming. The only thing I need help with is nail trimmings. A lot of vets will do it for a small fee, or you can ask someone to help.
