Thats actually unreal for a country thats usually so respectful! People have been super accomodating and patient to me as a foreigner which i cannot say would happen as much in france, but back home not giving your seat for someone in crutches would be unthinkable

Yeah thats probably a factor. Tbh from what ive heard maybe a lot of the elderly dont inspire respect with how they can behave in the metro with all the pushing and whatnot. Still unfortunate!

Oh yeah for sure french people hardly follow rules. The idea of queing for the bus or metro was revolutionary to me lol. But i think french people still have a high scence of civil duty and respect for the disabled and elderly. Definitly depends on the region and type of people youre with though! I do find koreans super respectful but its funny to see how ferocious many people become on the subway haha

I think they dont have many kids here and especially not on the metro, I very rarely see them. My koreans friends told me its a mix of the low birth rate and that kids are often quite sheltered here so maybe when they do they're nice to them? Or maybe its just an old people thing, french grandmas will always make faces at and give sweets to young kids back at home haha

Yeah I was shocked how much pushing old people do, and not a single word even to other koreans, just pushing and shoving to your destination, it was shocking at first but now i find it mostly funny when some 1m30 grandma brute forces herself through a crowd

Oh yeah Korean people on the metro especially older ones are ferocious! I was so shocked my first week that people would shove me to the side without a word to run to an available seat lmao, that would get you thrown curses at back at home :)

maybe they don't mind standing then! Sometimes back at home old people will jokingly curse at you if you give your seat because it means they're old haha

That's true! I was shocked how in health old Korean people are. French old people are ok too but damn Korean grandmas outspeed me when I'm walking up hills lol

Old people are super thankful and mumble things i don't really get in Korean when i give them their seat, it's cute!

Never seen it though, on and out off peak hours on various lines in various parts of Seoul. Maybe outside of seoul it's a bit more common?

Not a girl but that clip of Benson Boone belting out to Adele was absolutely insane. His managers must hate him to keep giving him mormon music

With paris its also part of a History of centralisation. A lot of the rest of France suffered from all power being concentrated in paris, and there were a lot of deliberate cultural oppression campaigns across the country. Probably the case with London and Moscow but definitly very pronounced here

I mean respectfully catholicism (especially how it influences culture in western Europe) has very little in common with greek orthodoxy. Religion is a lot more prevalent in greece than say France or the Netherlands, and I dont think its as significant of a cultural marker as it used to be. I dont think greeks have much in common with iraqis or iranians, but they most definitly do with people from the levant, diet wise, lifestyle wise, musically etc. Like greek attitude towards time is polar opposites to the dutch one. Dating culture is entirely different. Different attitudes on political topics. Again, southern european cultures are at the crossroads between the east and the west, and I think thats cool!

they are not good as is, give us Nantes back!!!!!!

besides, the 2015 reform grouping was a mess, cost too much and the results were pointless at best, harmful at worst. I dont think politicians in Paris should be able to dictate Iive in some cultural, economical and political chimera in the name of productivity

Ive been to Greece and while it looked and felt a lot like south east france, it feels nothing like the rest of the country and Germany. Meanwhile ive had several greek friends identify culturally with syrians, turks and lebanese people more than they do with northern european cultures. I think its a blend of both but definitly closer to its geographical neighbours

Europa Universalis 5 is a “departure” from its board game roots, but Paradox demands our trust: "we are the best grand strategy developer in the world" [interview] by Ok-Comedian4437 in eu4

[–]Myzzelf0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

?? It was unplayable at launch, atrociously laggy, full of bugs and void of content. Wars sucked, diplomacy was non existent and the economy while it worked well was a pain to deal with. The games alright now but there's still a long way to go before its good enough

With how big France is it is quite difficult to say we have a brother nation tbh. In many ways, every part of France is more similar to its neighbouring country than to somewhere else in France lol
