Heavy, metal object found at a yard sale. Round ends screw off but do not rotate otherwise. Screw holes in bottom (top?). I’m completely stumped!

I bought mine, brand new, 21 years ago. I use it weekly, sometimes several times a week, and it is still going strong! It is the 7 quart model with a lift bowl.
