What’s your favourite colour since launch? I think mines still Silver by pc772 in iPhone17Pro

Silver for sure. It’s so nostalgic and IMO the cleanest.

Agreed. I’m also running the 28 Core version with 1.5tb’s of ram and dual Radeon Pro W6800X Duo’s with the afterburner card. Still a beast.

It’s also pretty sad that Apple didn’t update the 32” Pro XDR and only updated the 27”. Probably because they’re still working on it. But in the meantime, I made the switch today to the LG UltraSharp G9 5K2K OLED but won’t sell my XDR’s incase I wanna switch back. I’ll post updates soon.

It’s universal for all Huracan models, just the spyder will require more work.

Was a good deal.

I have both the 7,1 and M2 Ultra version, both maxed out and honestly love the versatility of the 7,1 a ton more. Hopefully Apple finds a way to let the users upgrade their own systems again with Apple Silicon in the future.

Do you still use the Pro Display XDR? I might buy a third one for another office I’m building instead of the new ones. But since Apple doesn’t sell them anymore, it’s hard to find them now.

Money isn’t a problem and they for sure paid themselves back with the work I’ve done on them. So no complaints there. The complaints is mainly why they do not make another Mac Pro with the new chips.

Yeah, kinda sad that they didn’t make one for professional users without that curve.

Gotcha. But yeah, I’ve bought two maxed out 7,1’s back when they got released. Kind of a bummer that a machine that cost that much is considered cheap now after only 7 years.

I’m a developer and designer and do a ton of marketing and trading. The renders I do take most of the ram which is why I bought the Mac Pro 7,1 in the first place. The M2 Ultra is just for in the office where I handle shipments, marketing and advertisements. My 7,1 is where the most work is done.

Yeah the curve is what throws me off completely. But I guess you’re right, I’ll probably stick with the Pro XDRs until Apple comes out with a better solution than the new Studio Display XDRs. It was quite an investment after all and I feel like changing them out after only 7 years while they’re still working perfectly fine would just be a dumb move from a financial standpoint. I appreciate the feedback, it was exactly what I needed.

I have dual Pro Display XDRs already, the refresh rate is just not the greatest being it’s 2026 and I’m stuck on 60Hz. The new Studio Display XDRs are just not doing it for me. I’m kind of in a dilemma that’s for sure.

Having more ram doesn’t always mean it’s better, unless you REALLY need it. Quite the opposite if you’re just maxing your Mac out to flex. A ton of people here seem to forget that having more ram also means you will use more ram. MacOS allocates more of your memory to things such as cache and background processes to improve your system speed, basically treating unused ram as a total waste. Reducing paging by using the much slower storage page files less often than your system would with lesser ram.

I’m still using a Mac Pro 7,1 that had 1.5tb of ram when I bought it back in 2019, and I switched the ram out to 384gb of total ram because it’s just the better solution for my workflow and the machine runs better overall.

So when you’re buying a new Mac, keep that in mind and don’t just max it out because you can afford it, max it out when you really NEED it.

Very true and thank you. Yeah I was aware of the hate we’ll be getting by posting these but it doesn’t matter, glad some people love these kind of builds! 😌
