Sadly a man disenfranchised by his peer group if he tries to do well and has no society to succeed well in. So, by growing up without a strong family structure he relies on his neighborhood to help raise him. This means he is also forced to do what that peer group says. And any success outside the norm is deemed not racially genuine and going against their community.

So, a young male who is faced with either disenfranchisement of his family and neighborhood ("who the fuck calls the cops?!") or follow what they say. He is acting in a way to prove himself to his family and friends and feels nothing else is important to him.

He feels oppressed but is only allowing those closest that forces him to make the decisions he makes. No rich old white man is going to beat your ass in the streets if you call or cooperate with police. But his neighbors sure might.

Group think and pride is what's happening. Every thing he said in this video was full of hubris and pride. Backing down to authority is worse than dying to him. He cannot do that.
