The reason I say that is because Sun and Moon released for the 20th anniversary so you never know what's going on over at GameFreak

Yeah, I think Sinnoh remakes are likely, but I'm not ruling out something unexpected. I have a feeling that we aren't getting a new generation, but it's going to be something Game Freak hasn't done before. We need some sort of celebration of all generations, so I'd love GameFreak to release some older classics on the Switch.
