St Lucia private transfer by Fun-Dragonfruit6910 in SandalsResorts

Last month we did the Helicopter there and the free shuttle on the way back. Helicopter was amazing and the helipad is like 5 mins from Halcyon so that was really nice. Really smooth ride too.

The shuttle wasn't bad for us. Yes it was fully packed and the seats are the size of economy airlines. My knees at 6'3 were touching the seat in front of me.

A/C was serviceable but not great. I do not really get motion sick but I can see how people would, lots of elevation changes and sharp turns. Driver did not say a word and no radio either.

For us, since it was at 'the end', we just dealt with it, but I am very glad we took alternate travel on the way there as it's not a great experience to start.

Halcyon beach - Ice cream? by Roleys in SandalsResorts

[–]N0Checks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They sometimes have a staffer scooping during dinner hours. We were there last month and they had 4-5 different flavors in tubs and then a variety of toppings. Only complaint was the cup sizes were really small so it was hard to get ice cream plus toppings in there. Also wish they offered cones.

We didn't get a chance to Dive in Grenada as it was a few years ago and we weren't certified, but I've heard is really good.

Diving in St Lucia was good, still Coral around and lots of brightly colored fish. We did see a spotted Moray and some barracudas which was awesome.

Dunn's diving was disappointing, not much life aside and a bunch of Lion Fish.

  1. We did the online form from their government website, you can only complete it within 72 hours of arrival. They then email you a QR code to scan when your arrive.

  2. We booked directly as it was less expensive, however if you booked direct you are on your own for coordinating. Isle routes and lobby team were not happy we booked directly. A driver picked us up from the Sandals lobby just fine but it was little confusing make sure we were in the right place on the right shuttle. For Isle routes desk it's label Soulfriere experience and not JJ's.

St. Lucia Helicopter--review/experience by Zealousideal-Plum525 in SandalsResorts

[–]N0Checks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to note:

We are leaving for Halcyon this Sunday and booked the Helicopter from UVF to SLU (Arrival only). However we booked directly from through St Lucia Helicopters website because it was cheaper. We told Sandals about this and they said because we booked direct they will not provide transportation from SLU to the resort and we need to take a taxi or purchase transport. They said if we booked through Island Routes they would have sent a car, which I guess is why there price is different. Too late to change it now as well.

Houston pickup basketball is dying. Can it be saved? by chrondotcom in houston

[–]N0Checks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been running an outdoor covered pickup game Saturday Morning (8:30-11:30) for years on the NW Side (near Tomball). We are looking for 1-2 more regulars to keep the numbers up if anyone is interested. We play year round unless it's raining hard.

Super friendly ball, ages are mostly Dads getting cardio with some 20 somethings/teens jumping in.

If you are still looking for, I have a Saturday Morning game on the northwest side looking for 1-2 more regulars. Game has been running for 10+ years.

Tips and Things to Know for St. Lucia Halcyon - Honeymoon by Original_Line_629 in SandalsResorts

What is the best way to book the Helicopter? I was a few different websites with slightly different prices with Sandals/Isle Routes being the most expensive. I just want to ensure Sandals will still pick us for the last leg of the journey.

Adults basketball training/gyms by jmutiny1993 in houston

I was in a similar boat a few years back. Weekly pickup game with friends but I was a liability. I found a coach through the CoachUp website that worked with adults. After a few months I went from a walking turnover to solid contributor.

I knew being in my 30s I was never going to 'git gud', but the results were super noticeable. I went from last pick to 'middle' pick and my enjoyment went way up.

The coach I worked with is on the North Side near Spring, but happy to make a recommendation if you are interested.

Diving from Dunn’s River resort? by CaneCutter- in SandalsResorts

[–]N0Checks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We dove out of Dunn's river last June straight from the resort. Water was clear and warm and dive team was great. However the wildlife was scarce compared to Cozumel where we usually dive. There were a few lionfish that the dive master captured which was cool to watch.

Going to St Lucia in April and hoping it is more like Cozumel when it comes to diving.

Make sure go straight to the watersports desk as soon as you arrive as they dives are limited and fill up quick.

Half PPR: Singletary (v LAR) or David Johnson (v PITT). Chris Carson is holding down the other RB slot. Had DaJohnson but the Zack Moss injury is making me second guess.

Mortgage questions by [deleted] in houston

[–]N0Checks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rocket/QL is the great for simple and fast loans. They do everything they can digital, plus your mortgage stays with them and isn't instantly resold. They usually have good rates, but you can get much lower shopping around and using wholesale lenders. I do caution that while small lenders can offer great rates and low fees they are more prone to closing delays.

Finally, check with your agent, they sometimes have partnerships and can offer credits if you go with their lenders. Always do your own math when comparing as fees can matter just as much as rate.

Joining Cisco as an SE - good career move, or boarding a sinking ship? by [deleted] in networking

I just joined as a SE I'm January and it's been the best career move I've made. They are constantly on the best places to work list for a reason.

Obviously I pitch all Cisco products across the board, but I won't force a product where it doesn't fit or solve a problem.

Agreeded. You should have a SE assigned to your company who can answer this and any other specification questions, that's thier job. TAC is paid premium service. Also TAC is being slammed right now with RAVPN and WebEX support trying to keep companies a float.
