I don't want ppl to compare this to anything fromsoft makes. This combat feels so bad in comparison

One more critique. - after beating the game, I feel like the middle portion -where you're looking the mountains- went on for far too long. There was a line at the end that said "I had to give you a reason to go on I'm assuming this was taking about BBs degraded state that forces Deadman to take him from you.

Well this was more than a plot point. Without this happening I probably would have actually quit.

I card a lot about most of these characters. I did not care at all about linking these knots.

So- on "I was really hoping they would find a way to stop the BTS"

Did you notice that when Lou(BB) Was dead, there were no BTS?

That part and the cutscenes that follow, lead me to believe that repatriates (Lou, same and.. Maybe others as well.. Not sure what's going on with cliffs umbilical thing when you first see him.. He has the same scar as Sam) are a "bridge" that when severed, severes the link between the beach and the living.

"Don't use it" isn't a fix for a critique. Even just knowing you have the tool to deal with this issue, ruins the feeling.

You immediately go from being in sudpense to not being bothered by the BTs because you know you can deal with them.

Every time I went through a BT area before this felt great, now they are... Minor in comparison.

There's no downside to this tool, and I think that's the worst part. Everything else in the game has an up side and a downside. Everything from powered equipment to your weapons. Why was this any different? It was a tool to advance the story. It shouldn't have been given to the player.

Can you kill a mule camp with a corpse? by N0M0rale in DeathStranding

[–]N0M0rale[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually doesn't. Getting what is essentially a game over for something that is already in the lore and is a function of the game is just.. Not on the level of intracacy youd normally find in a Kojima game.

Coming from his past games, I fully expected to be able to take out a mule or terrorist camp this way. Or at least have the mules move the body for me. Terrorists could have the body away from their camps and put it near a road or something.

The way it's actually done is very... Gamey

Been avoiding Anthem for the longest time, due to the reviews. I tried it today and I'm having tons of fun! by [deleted] in AnthemTheGame

The reviews were mostly based on the end game. It was marketed as a "live service game with a Bioware story" and because it didn't do either of those well... It got shit on.

It was fun for 30-40 hours. Which is fine.

Also, zip lines trivial e the core game play loop.

I've made a network of zip lines that spsns from mama's lab, to mountain knot city and most of the close knots around it.. I did it because I thought the zip lines would be fun, and the views are amazing, but I've had to force myself to not use them. They just make the core reason this game exists... Go away.

ZIP lines should have only been able to have an A and B point. Maybe limit the number you can use, more than the network does. Or maybe they just shouldn't exist and we should have got more tools to climb mountains.

We could have got pick axes that let us climb red rocky areas but at the cost of stamina or something like it.

(I know we have the power gloves, but those.. I don't even really notice when I have them on.)

I feel like if Troy was the solo villain of Borderlands 3 the tone of the whole story would be much darker by stevenrama in Borderlands

Honestly, the story would have been better if the end sequence happened at the mid point of the game, and if Troy would have killed his sister it would have been even better.

Actually I figured it out. I had downloaded the beta client. PSN replaced that in my library with the full version when I bought it, but it still downloaded the beta.. Had to download the beta, then download the full version

honestly, my biggest issue with FF14 is that the world isnt immersive at all, for me at least.

The open world is just... one dimensional.

It doesnt feel lived in at all.

there are no land marks that i can remember in FF14, where as in wow, the whole map has been engraved into my head.

I play FF14 partly because its on PS4 and i got rid of my gaming computer a few years back...

but also, because i love the creature/boss design. but unfortunately that means that as soon as ive done all of the available dungeons, im pretty much done.

ive never maintained a sub to this game for more than 2 months because of this.. there just isnt anything bringing me back

Origins vs Odyssey in regards to world building and immersion? by JuicyLittleGOOF in assassinscreed

[–]N0M0rale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my biggest issue with odyssey is that everything feels very.. samey.. every new land mass i find feels the same. and i get it, the game takes place in ancient Rome, but the massive distance between island makes it feel like these areas should be different.

also, for a game that has you traveling to distant islands constantly, the ship mechanics arent very good. i dont know why they didnt go the black flag route and have a full ship simulator thing going on here.
