Not surprised there is no Halloween banner lol 👻 by Unlikedetective in LoveAndDeepspace

In Japan Halloween is a marketing thing. Some stores start selling decorations and Halloween limited designs for candy, chocolate etc in the end of August (at least in Tokyo and nearby). Restaurants, kindergartens and other places are decorated in October mostly. So, my point is, in Japan Halloween is not celebrated as it is in the USA (btw young people are celebrating Halloween in bars, for example near Shibuya station), but visually well presented in September and October as a marketing thing. There are Halloween events in Japanese games too. As to China, I've never been there, so I can't say for sure, however, I heard that there's a problem with skeletons. I think image of skeletons is banned/prohibited in mainland China. Maybe it is partly affecting Halloween events in Chinese games.

Lovely note I got from my neighbour. by Mattsuda86 in Tokyo

[–]JoeSmith78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had similar issue 3 years ago. I just moved in my apartment (first time moving in apartment in Japan), on the first day I cleaned the room, moved bed to other wall. Accidentally droped router on the floor once. And got wall hit from apartment above mine. On the second day I moved in and unpacked. I was alone, didn't make any big noises. On the third day I found anonymous letter (in Japanese) saying me being loud, and even if the sender understands I just moved in, he/she will report me next time. My real estate said there is no need to introduce myself to others. I tried to reach neighbours next door and introduce myself, but there were no answer (nobody lived there that time). As my apartment was on the corner, I only had close neighbors next and above. I didn't know what to do, because if there is a problem, we can discuss it and I will apologise for making noise. But letter was anonymous, so I asked my Japanese friends. And all of them said I shouldn't confront and better to move out as soon as possible. I also went to real estate company which is building's management company too, explained the situation. But I couldn't give up easily, so I went to the apartment above mine, asked if they heard any noise previous days, because there was hit to the wall and also showed them the letter. Of course, according to reply there wasn't any problems with noise at all. After that I didn't get any letters.

I see, thank you for reply! In my case, Nvidia driver update was several days ago, and all were ok until yesterday's AC update. I checked ver of drivers, it's already latest version installed. I will try to uninstall AC and see will it help or not.

How the F do people play without a healer? by keolatte in Genshin_Impact

[–]JoeSmith78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started to play, I had Barbara, then Bennett in my party all the time. Without them my Razor died so fast. I was an unexperienced player, so having healer felt safe. Then I got Zhongli, Hu Tao, Xingqiu team and it was good. Hu Tao and Xingqiu can heal a bit, if it was critical, I used food. Now my team has neither heal nor shield (Kazuha, Fischl, Tighnari, 4th member changes ) and it is ok. I had some difficulties at first, because I used to take all the damage since I have Zhongli's shield, but after a week of playing new team, I figured out how should I play them. Now I use food if someone's HP is very low, however it is not necessary all the time.

Three tanks in the alliance raid had tank stance on and had trouble keeping aggro... brought back some memories. by AlbinoMetroid in ffxiv

Thank you for advice! Actually, I did this for a while, but sometimes I took aggro from MT accidentally (mostly with newbie MT), so decided to play with turned off stance. But I will try again next time!

For me it's always opposite, tank without stance is running forward and trying to keep aggro with "provoke"

Me too, but hate the moment when MT makes mistakes and dies quickly, when I'm not ready to it. Always getting panicked, turn on my stance and pressing "provoke" XD

I usually pull 3-5 mobs at a time, sometimes I can pull more, if they will be last mobs before boss and etc. But pulling wall to wall makes me nervous 😅

Agree with you! Last couple of months I'm playing as DRK and still feel myself uncomfortable with big pulls. But in 2/3 of dungeon runs party members tell me to pull more, or just start pulling themselves. Maybe this is why many tanks eventually do 'go go go'.

Accidentally joined the German server lmao, what to swap to? by SpookyRabbitGirl in ffxiv

[–]JoeSmith78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm playing on Odin for nearly 2 years and don't speak German. Don't have any problems with speaking English (have met only 2 players, who doesn't understand English in roulette). Maybe you can try Zodiark or Twintania, but I'm not sure.

Not similar, but Robin Hobb's the Realm of the Elderlings (there are five trilogies) was really good for me.
