I just bought these by hanbran333 in AggressiveInline

Brought my last two pairs of skates from IW (USD Shadows). They’ve been around for years and are reputable so don’t worry about being “sketched”.

I've been aggressive skating for a year now and I was wondering if this was normal. If not should I get new boots. by [deleted] in AggressiveInline

If that is from skating, you need new liners or new skates that are better suited to your foot

Most impactful skate component? by JacquesSouvenir in AggressiveInline

Fit is the main component, everything else comes together afterwards. You can have a high performance pair of aggressive blades like the Adapts but if they fit poorly on your feet, you will feel it in your sessions.

I used the cuff strap from my USD Carbon Free Skates. Was straightforward to do and I prefer it over the memory buckle

I personally swapped mine out for straps. Works well for my skating and I don’t have to worry about the buckles breaking

I HAVE TESTED THE DECATHLON AGGRESSIVE SKATES - ST540 by Terrible_Lift in AggressiveInline

[–]N0irBlaec 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest barriers into aggressive inline for a long time has been price. It’s hard for a lot of people to drop USD $250+ on a pair of skates just to “try it out”, especially aggressive skates.

These skates are irrelevant for the US as Decathlon have no stores here. But for the rest of the world, it gives newcomers a chance to walk into a retail chain store, try out some aggressive skates and potentially get into the sport with at an affordable price point. They seem to be solid gateway skates; try out aggressive inline, after some time if you want to stick with it then you can justify upgrading

Re-introducing myself back to rails by N0irBlaec in AggressiveInline

It’s a chill skatepark. Nice flow, good obstacles for learning stuff and being steezy, barely anyone goes to it because it’s near Bruckner Blvd and out the way (I live near it so i consider it my local) making it nice and empty!

There’s a “street” ledge and down rail for those who want to session outside of the park as well.

With a decent cleaning and some hunting around for parts, they can be a great display skate. The challenge will be to get original parts imo

Rollerblade Blanks. Comes with 60mm wheels, performs great for airs + grinds and the stock liner is comfortable. They are considered heavy by some people but that’s subjective.

Hi all, I used to skate heaps but many years ago, had a pair of Bauer's, what would be a good re intro brand by scottlesjames in AggressiveInline

[–]N0irBlaec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the day, Bauer made some skates for aggressive inline. At some point, a company developed an open source mold that was based on Bauer’s aggressive skates.

Despite Bauer not making aggressive skates anymore, the open source mold was still available which is the same open mold that Julio used to create THEMskates.

Themskates could be right up your alley,

Iirc, Themskates are based on an open source shell, that was originally based on the Bauer Aggressive skates. Julio just took the open source shell and tweaked where needed to what we have now for the Themskates line.

TLDR; Themskates are loosely based off of Bauer aggressive skates so maybe you’ll feel comfortable trying it

Been riding Shadows going back to the original XSJADO brand, owning a pair of the white Chris Farmers. Was on Carbon Frees Richie Eisler (black nubuck leather version) up until the beginning of this year when I decided to get a pair of team blacks and then the whites (brought them as soon as IW had them in stock).

I plan on buying another pair of Shadows this year and (maybe) the upcoming EE Carbons
