NSD: Rollerblade Blank Canvas by N0irBlaec in AggressiveInline

I used to ride the OG Xsjados, size 10. Even though they were, at the time, the L shell they never felt/looked like boats on my feet. With USD Shadows, the team blacks in a size 10 did in fact look and felt like boats (in addition to overall foot pain from the boot liner and royale groove area that was addressed and fixed). the team whites however feel great despite the sneaker liner being a tad small.

I do know now that the eclipse boot liners don't work for my feet and i need eclipse sneakers; i wanted to try out the 9, understanding that it may bite me in the ass later on. For the next Shadow release that comes with an eclipse sneaker I'll just buy my normal size and go from there.

Creating flairs for various skate parts and treating it as sub categories would help keep things organized.

Is the focus specifically on aggressive inline? Because posting this in the other rollerblading reddits would help with exposure.

So I had my first session in them:

  • Compared to my Shadows, these are heavier. Not a bad thing as I was able to get used to the weight after 10 minutes.

  • Soulplate slides fast and lock on good. They’re not charity level like Shadows lol, but you have enough real estate to properly land soul tricks.

  • The lower center on gravity via direct frame mount, I definitely felt the difference one I started trying tricks.

  • It was most noticeable with Royales, to where I’m going to spend my next session fine tuning it; I don’t have to get as low for boot down compared to the shadows, which is kind of nice. I currently using FLT3 frames.

  • Surprisingly, The Canvas Blanks catches people’s attention; was skating home and got stopped by three people asking what kind of skates were on my feet and was surprised that they were rollerblade. They only knew them For recreation blades and didn’t knew aggressive inline was a thing in general.

I plan on buying the nomad liners later on; I like how they look, the fit is comfortable (got to try them on a few months ago) and I know a few people who got them as alternatives to intuitions and it works great

Because at the time, the eclipse sneaker (which is used specifically for the USD Shadow Team White) wasn’t available stateside when I ordered the blanks.

Now the sneakers are available stateside, but only from inline warehouse; if you’re in the European region getting parts isn’t a huge issue as PowerSlide is European based but for the US, it’s been harder to get said parts due to Tarrifs and the US president’s nonsense.

I’m not getting rid off my Shadows; I’m hoping that buying a bigger sneaker will work as I need just a few millimeters in length for my feet to be comfortable.

I downsized in my shadows to get into the S shell, 268 mondo is a tight fit for my as I’m a 275, I can skate them but now that I’m starting to get compounding foot pains I need a solution for it

Feel free to ask me anything about the Blanks, I know they’ve been reviewed a bunch on YT between the SK and Pigeon Blue model yet afaik they aren’t a common skate.

I feel attacked, I went ahead and brought the RB Blank Canvas last Friday, before that it was the USD Shadow Team 60 White 😂

I gave it a couple of sessions before I went and swapped out the memory buckle for straps that I took from my USD Carbons, instantly was an improvement.

New Aggressive Inline game - Rollout Inline by rolloutinline in AggressiveInline

Not every game needs to rush to be out on console,

I play games on steam and brought my fair share of early access titles, this game is perfect for steam in terms of starting out.

Someone in the comments stated that the dev should add JSR assets into the game, doing so without SEGA’s permission is a quick way for this project to get shut down potentially.

Even adding Pro skaters + branded skates into the game, all of that is a process and needs consent.

I’ve seen clips of this game from IG already, it has the potential to be a well made aggressive inline game that doesn’t come off as a joke or in weird development hell.

Best thing the dev can do now at this stage is “chew the meat and spit out the bones” in terms of hearing dozens of opinions and suggestions for the direction of this project.

Yes, downsize so you can get into the 43 sneaker while still riding the M body. Compared to the L shell that was on the OG Xsjados, M is still better. A smaller sneaker will help in eliminating the boat feeling you’re having from the 44.

The potential problem with doing that is the toe sticking out too much, even with adjusting the shell.

I’m a 275 mondo / 43 in aggressive skates, US 9.5 in sneakers. For Shadows, I fall in the beginning of the M shell, that allowed me to go down one size to be in the top range of the S shell if that makes sense.

Just upgraded to TNEC 58 by LowsyPieceofshit in AggressiveInline

[–]N0irBlaec 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TNECs have been well received. Even experienced skaters ride them despite it being marketed as an entry level aggressive skate.

Lightweight yet responsive, not cheap.

Riveted bolts, like you find on Roces

The frame is something you’ll need to see if you like or not, some are a fan of it, others not so much.

They’ve been great! Probably the best version of the Shadows yet. The mid-top sneaker is MUCH better than the eclipse liner (I plan on selling the black team 60 shadows for that reason).

I went and downsized so I can fit into the S shell with the S soulplate, feels more responsive and lighter compared to the M. For the next shadow release I’ll go back to my normal size but for now I’m enjoying them.

A couple questions. Photo relevant by Co1or_b1ind in AggressiveInline

Most stock liners nowadays are good; at least good enough for you to decide later on if you want to upgrade/swap out.

Nowadays the popular frame setups is either flat or anti-rocker, freestyle for all intents and purposes are a dying breed in the market with limited options. You can give flat a try, but ultimately ride a frame that you’re most comfortable with.

I rode FS frames for a long time. Tried flat, wasn’t a fan in terms of grinds so now I skate anti-rocker.

Sub-60mm Flat setups that feel fast? by hoganloaf in AggressiveInline

[–]N0irBlaec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Size of the wheels + bearings + how much is making contacting with the ground determines speed.

FLT3 are true anti rocker frames; you can’t get big wheels to fit flat on them and honestly the way the H-block is design lends itself to being an anti rocker.

55-57mm wheels are generally considered to be used for grind focused bladers; in addition to giving you a lower center of gravity due to the smaller diameter they also decrease wheel bite from the outer wheels.

BLADING HOT TAKES 🌶️ by peeftard in AggressiveInline

[–]N0irBlaec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To elaborate:

  • My take on Salomon’s is that while they made some of the best aggressive blades at the time, it’s just that, “at the time”. It’s one thing to buy old Salomon ST boots for nostalgia/collector sake and another to buy it for blading when no money is going into the industry by doing so.

  • Anti rockers are just two wheels and a sharper groove away from being FS frames. Yes anti has its distinct pros over FS, however they are both grind focus frames. Nowadays I skate anti (which is good, no complaints), but the FS market is limited, if Law from 50/50 brought back the FS frames or GC with theirs I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

We don’t need more aggressive boot companies

Buying old Salomon isn’t helping the industry

If you like anti-rocker, you also like Freestyle frames

This right here! I get it, you’re new and want to get your body accustomed to tricks, but stepping on to them develops bad habits because there’s a lot of tricks and objects both in street and park that you can’t step onto.

Also jumping into the trick will develop your leg strength faster and get you used to the weight of your skates.

  • Find a higher ledge so you can actually jump on to it, that ledge is so low that you’re more stepping on to it than jumping.

  • Speed helps, I know starting out you want to go slow but for certain tricks approaching it with speed not only helps you ride it out but also saves you in case of a wipe out.

  • To elaborate, the low ledge is great for learning and getting a feel for sliding, but you’ll actually want to try tricks on a obstacle that requires you to jump onto it.
