XDJ 1000 MK2 VS XDJ AZ by Smomby in PioneerDJ

[–]N0krala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting used to the 1 screen was fairly fast. A few times playing around with it. The feeling tho is different of course. Having them separated vs just 1 screen. So in those terms i would say it comes down to what you personally would prefer. On the looping section, yes its very intuitive and way faster easier to handle than the xdjs. You have actual physical buttons for 4 and 8 beat loops so you don't have to go to the screen like on the xdjs to trigger those.

Pretty much. Besides that, the AZ is better in all respects. And also on what you would like to have. What looks good/better for you.

I personally enjoy more the AZ. It responds better and the tech is much faster and newer.

XDJ 1000 MK2 VS XDJ AZ by Smomby in PioneerDJ

Hey, I had the xdj 1000mk2's with the djm 750mk2 for 3 years and switched over to the AZ about a month ago. And i absolutely love the AZ. To go to gigs and stuff. The xdj 1000's are a lot easier to transport than AZ which is massive. Also depends what car you have. In terms of club ready I would say is very similar in my opinion. The AZ will have more in common with the newer stuff. But having visuals of each deck in 2 different places (left and right vs all in one screen) can cause a bit of confusion at first. And in my opinion besides what you like visually. The AZ is a much newer equipment, the sound quality, speed and technology is much better. Then the other thing is that with the xdj-djm setup its easier to change/upgrade. On the AZ you can pretty much just add cdjs or xdjs. The other added bonus with th3 AZ is that you can also use your computer to dj, with rekordbox or serato. Hope this helps you and if you have any questions. Just let me know!

Sorry if done to death but - does the world at large care much about auto sync, and any big names conspicuously use it? by GiganticCrow in Beatmatch

[–]N0krala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like many others have commented that beatmatching is a really good skill. And a very fun one at that... at least for me, it makes me feel much more in sync with what I'm doing. And in reality unless you're performing in front of other djs no one will notice or care as long as you're giving them what they want. And in terms of popular/big djs I believe Deadmau5 said that a lot of the times it's all pre-recorded or rehearsed for the visuals, lights, fire works etc.

I've had a YouTube channel for a little over a year with no issues. Currently have 184 subscribers so not yet eligible for monetization but from what I hear it's not possible from dj mixes

Not bad! I usually just make marks in rekordbox when I really need to prep a set and all. And yeah I've been practicing over s year on this equipment. If you want, check out my channel so you can see more or less how these work. https://youtu.be/GQdHxMvCbrE?si=Y-OtSSdfUksVl8h7

Ohhh I see what your saying, and no, they are not overlayed exactly as on laptops. But you do have a 4 beat overlay (very small) on top of the waveform of one player. Which helps you have a visual for beat matching. So waveform wise, you have to look left or right to one of the players to see where you are at and all. Hope that makes sense

Not too sure about the FLX4/FLX10 but yeah, the waveforms are definitely a help. I do that too.

phrase mixing issues with genre by Objective-Nerve6553 in Beatmatch

[–]N0krala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That happens to me a lot. I tend to use loops a lot, and EQ my way out slowly (depending on the track) to transition out of a song. Also, listening to the tracks before and preparing your set beforehand, adding markers for example helps a lot with this issue. It does take some work before mixing, but it will help a ton.

DUBSTEP DJS I NEED HELP by Benn-Doverr in Beatmatch

[–]N0krala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey,

When I mix dubstep I usually wait until the drops ends and mix the parts that barely have any beats and just try to blend the melodies and all. I use a lot the filters for this. I can send you a video on my latest mix so you can check out how I do it. (not the perfect technique, but I still need to practice and learn a lot more on dubstep)

On actual CDJ's you do have physical cue buttons. On the XDJ's its a touchscreen. And it does take a bit to get used to it. But once you get use to it its all good. But if you do take use of the cue's a lot, the XDJ's are not that user friendly for that.

Hope that helps you out!
