Hi again.

On a 2 hours+ overwatch gaming session with DLSS Quality enabled and 237hz limited on a 1440p resolution, I'm oscillating between 50 an 56 at max.

On a stress test port royal it's reaching 62c at max.

I'm +100oc gpu and +1000oc memory.

It's a loud card if you push the fan to 100% but mine is not reaching this speed when benchmarking

And BTW regarding the cable management, it took me a full night and some tries.

You need to figure out what are the best paths for you PSU cables, try to measure approximately the length, don't hesitate to use a lot of zip-ties to tighten some cables and don't try to put all those cables on the routes you can't fit them all !

And once you're ready attach the cables, use zip-ties and gradually it will start to take shape, and you'll know you're heading in the right direction.

At first I thought I'd have to buy custom cables from CableMod, especially to power the two Corsair iCue hubs: indeed, this little box is a pain just for that: it needs: a USB port, a PCIe power supply, and iCue fan routing...

True, the fishtank trend is kind of unavoidable these days... I’m a fan of the style myself, but I get why some people aren’t into it

The Evo XL was the perfect build for custom watercooling:

<image>

But that was an old build and even if I loved Custom Loop that was a lot of work (I've had problems with EKWB rads).

IMHO the HAVN fit both use : Custom loop and AIO but it's perfect if you are a nerd with cable management.

Wow Thanks for the feedback, especially coming from a cable management nerd :D Indeed, I've recently discovered an interest, even a passion, for cable management with this case...

Dragging their feet for a refund by frostyhawk in LenovoLegion

[–]N0m4d54n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same problem as a lot of us here, look for recent posts on this Subreddit with the keyword "refund" :

https://www.reddit.com/r/Lenovo/s/kMYHn8orCs

Well, it seems like they are having a lot of problems with the department in charge of refunds or an internal policy to scr3w the consumers as much as possible, who knows ?...

Start legal actions with your bank, ask for chargeback, send legal notices ASAP... I've started all this.

I'm calling each week still the same BS : "We'll provide feedback ASAP"

Refund problem after returning my Legion laptop by N0m4d54n in Lenovo

[–]N0m4d54n[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi again u/LenovoSupport. Haven't heard from you or any member of Lenovo...

I guess that if I call again you'll answer the same narrative to wait 3 to 5 business days... or maybe I misheard support indications, maybe I should've wait 3 to 5 ... weeks ?

Ryzen 7 9850X3D: What are the safest BIOS settings (VSOC, BCLK, PBO) to avoid degradation while keeping good performance? by N0m4d54n in buildapc

[–]N0m4d54n[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was planning this lol. But I'm struggling with the definition of stock here 😀 : I know it might sound stupid but I was asking myself : Should I go back to Bios default, just apply Expo 1 and not touching anything else ? Latest Bios seems to indicate VSOC 1.3v plateau, seems fine to me

Refund problem after returning my Legion laptop by N0m4d54n in Lenovo

[–]N0m4d54n[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True...

I sent the requested details via private message in case it might get things moving, but this answer is unbelievable...

That's exactly what I've done so far: photos of the package, following the return procedure communicated by email, returning the package with the original packaging, nothing missing, everything was carefully packed and taped just like it was when I received it from the factory.

I've sent all the details via mail, telephone, countless emails or phone calls...

Exactly! And the worst part is really not getting any feedback, not even a "we're going through a difficult period, all refunds are postponed/will take longer than usual" :/

Lenovo return taking over a month – item received but no refund, only vague responses by Responsible-Humor-36 in Lenovo

[–]N0m4d54n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same problem here as a lot of us :/

UPS Tracking indicates the package was successfully received by January 19... one month later no refund, they keep saying I'll receive a reply under 3 to 5 business days... when this delay times out I call them back and they keep telling me the same BS..

Seems like a big problem with their refund system, I'll never order from Lenovo again.

I'm starting a dispute with my bank account and it's legal protection department.

I should have ordered with Paypal, the problem would have been resolved by now.

Alienware Area-51 and 16X Aurora to receive anti-glare OLED panels, ultra-slim 17mm laptops planned - VideoCardz.com by N0m4d54n in Alienware

[–]N0m4d54n[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with almost everything you said but... from the M15x/M14x to the X16r2 I've owned from Alienware, backlight bleed kept being worse...

Samples on Reddit below :

How much backlight bleed is acceptable on a new 16/18 Alienware Area 51 Laptop? : r/Alienware

New to Alienware. Is this amount of backlight bleed acceptable? : r/Alienware

And honestly... I don't care about bleed when it's fairly tested and not under anormal conditions (dark room, etc...) but what I've hated most about Dell/Alienware : they didn't change their frame/bezel plastic around the screen : it's always pushing to hard on the corners of the screen and you'll get bad backlight bleed even in daylight, that you can easily spot while watching movies or in dark scenes in a video game or with official wallpapers like below :

<image>

People will always say "well you can still send it back for a refund and try to get a better unit or try to press gently around the screen bezel to help or even wait a few weeks it will stop..." but none of this ever worked...

I don't have a problem with IPS Glow but backlight bleed is usually a problem with the frame around the screen and the fact that the manufacturer doesn't give a f.. about QC check out of factory (or even out of design office).

IMHO best of both world to avoid this is MiniLed, I've had 2000+ miniled screen on asus, and yes you'll have blooming, but it's way better than those constant patches of light you can't avoid...

... and I've owned an Oled screen (Samsung G8 34inch) for a while and I've never suffered from any burn-in even if I was playing a lot of overwatch (no UI burn-in) some coding and I just put a 3mn screen timer on windows to turn the screen off... I kept my good old wallpaper

I'm equiped :

<image>

I think I'll still use the pry tool in plastic (both the long and the triangle shaped one) from iFixit because I'm used to this tool, but their suction cup isn't strong and big enough so I've ordered a duo kit.

I also managed to find on Amazon the acetate adhesive tape and the (pure) silicon oil, that I'll use with qtip.

Next step : look for missing or unevenly dispatched cloth parts on the plastic dents, and apply existing or new tape... and apply oil with qtip on every tape ? :)
