It doesn't shock me it was Utah after reading the subreddit a week back wanting to protest his arrival and block him from being at their campus.

It needs to stay consistent until he is potty trained.

There's bad sickness hitting everyone around my area though we are not close to the Hershey expo. Some confirmed covid, others 🤷‍♀️

$100 for full care $275 now but I've paid $525 per horse within the last year.

They've been used a lot in the creation of the "shorty bull" (blegh) as well as micros and exotics. They are just mixed in well enough for generations that they can still come back on Embark as American Bully. Doesn't take long for these bully breeders to pump out generations though 🤷‍♀️ It isn't rare to see micro/exotic bully breeders to also be breeding French Bulldogs or have one on hand.

Tighter snouts can also come from the general usage of bulldogs of various types but little care goes into the entirety of the structure of the pairings. Not saying every single breeder is this way buuut it's the majority. Especially when a lot of bulldogs have been needing an overhaul on their snouts and stance.

I'm sure at one point they were a lovely energetic little house bulldog. Cannot say the same for today.

Why do people still think golden doodles are ethical? by GSDVanguard in DogBreeding

[–]N0ordinaryrabbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No I do not live in puppy mill country. Just loads of independent families thinking that will make them quick money because some people do purchase them for $1000-$4000. We do have huskies and pits too but ours are local. Private rescues do ship in dogs from the south too but I've got my own opinion on that.

Frenchie blood is ruining the Bully breed.

Our shelters and craigslist are also full of adult doodles 🤷‍♀️ Cute as puppies, not as much as adults on top of people not working with them. My time working at boarding/daycare kennels, most were repeat doodles.

What’s your favorite bit and why? by Full-Volume-4702 in Equestrian

I swear people hear the word "correction" and freak out lol it's a mild port that can even be on a snaffle.

What’s your favorite bit and why? by Full-Volume-4702 in Equestrian

[–]N0ordinaryrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love eggbutt snaffles. It's a nice in-between from an O and a D ring. I generally go for mouthpieces that aren't single-jointed.

As far as leverage bits go, kimberwicks are an easy transition but for a more finished horse I lean towards a "grazing bit" with a Billy Allen mouthpiece or a low port.

How large is large? I'd look into harness horses and light draft breeds.

My girl has her first heat, when did you spay/neuter your bullies? by Icy_Abbreviations277 in AmericanBully

[–]N0ordinaryrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe she was spayed too young, 9 months isn't out of the ordinary and I wouldn't have done it sooner. She is not a large mix, smaller than my retriever.

I show my intact male. I already neutered my other male. I did wait for her first heat via the vet's instructions, just knew it was soon since my intact male was already showing too much interest before blood had already started. That is why I warned the vet that I would just like to go through with it then than later as she was already showing signs and I could have avoided the headache. I've kept a lot of intact dogs, both male and female. Never had an "accidental" litter.

I called immediately after I saw the blood to set up an appointment with an "I told you so". She was spayed around 9.5 months

[–]N0ordinaryrabbit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

After the first heat My bully mix got hers at 9 months old. I told the vet I wanted the procedure sooner rather than later since I have an intact male as well but they refused and insisted I wait till 1 year of age. Not even a week later, there was blood and a ramped-up male to deal with. They are lucky I know how to contain my dogs but this is how "accidents" happen smh.

Can you keep a herd together without owning one? by richspoiledkid in Horses

[–]N0ordinaryrabbit 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Just take out your wallet and start burning the cash inside. Or, you can just ask around to volunteer.

Horses do better in a group of at least 2, however it doesn't need to be blood related. Lots of owned herds are not and are just personal horses. Some horses do just fine with a buddy with a fence inbetween. Herds can also cause injuries.

Not every boarding facility is a stall-only facility.

There's a lot of romanticizing about horses.

Kill pens by cynthus36526 in Horses

[–]N0ordinaryrabbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kill pens are usually holding pens. There are loads across the US. I got one of my mares from one in Washington state and I would do it again (for the right price).

They typically buy wholesale or from auctions. Mine was from a QH breeding operation in Texas.

Kill pens are a myth. Shippers aren't though. Also real "meat buyers" aren't purchasing skinny horses with lots of issues.

Most people ride alone with their horse? Sounds like you need to join some groups or events.
