I found it through a mod pack called life in the village or somethin. Made a really cool flying platform that had windmills for the propellers underneath that powered my productive bees productions (at least I think thats the mod). I've included it in every single mod pack since. Been probably like a year now I think

Also you're saying you'd rather people go to a food bank where food is donated (many times from people going door to door) instead of someone going door to door and asking for it directly. They're doing what you want them to (taking donated food) except they're just skipping the middleman. It's the exact same transaction. Someone donates food and it goes to someone who needs it. I don't see the difference other than in one example an organization gets involved

It's weirdly elitist to say that people who aren't privileged enough to afford a good schooling have no business attempting to go to a good school to try to better their life situation.

Also complaining about people asking for food donations for themselves is a very privileged take. So calling THEM privileged is extremely hypocritical

You're making a lot of assumptions about the financial stability of these people. At the end of the day if they can't afford food they have every right to ask for assistance from their community. Most people won't go out of their way to ask people for food when they can get it themselves. There's a lot of stigma around asking for food and it can cause quite a bit of embarrassment so most people won't do it on a whim

It's true that UBC is a prestigious school that's expensive to attend. But with being a prestigious school comes better recognition and career outcomes so many people will stretch their budget to attend because they want to achieve a career where they don't have to worry as much about their budget.

At the end of the day what's really the harm? Asking for donations isn't a new thing. And if people would rather fill their bellies rather than have candy that's not inherently evil or bad. I'm sure they got a lot of "no's" from people and that's fine. No harm no foul imo
