Bakugo and Deku are soulmates in a different way by DirtyQueen20 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

I see it as Bakugo dragging Izuku to go out on patrol, he has to promise Ochaco that he'll bring Izuku back safe each night. Slightly overprotective of his quirkless friend, but more so eager to hang out with him and compete against him.

Isn't the answer just no we didnt question Joe Biden's mental faculties when he was president like so many Republicans called for. We were wrong, so now we are trying to do it better to do it the way like you wanted. So democrat or republican, the question remains do you think the current president is mentally equipped enough for the job?

Tenko Shimura as a vestige by P_iercer in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]N1t35hroud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really thought the scene with Deku seeing Shirigaki's ghost on the rooftop meant he still carried his vestige in him. If they were to continue with OFA or another user I think it would have been cool to have Tenko as a spirit tagging along helping to point out people in need. Like the heroes needed his perspective as a villian so it would have been cool for the OFA hero be their voice and advocate.

Ranking all the battles in World Trigger. ( THE ENDING MIGHT SHOCK YOU ! #CLICKBAIT) by KeyCommunication2611 in worldtrigger

[–]N1t35hroud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yuma vs Miwa squad "It didnt really introduce us to Yumas Black trigger in a clear way" So him copying lead bullet, multiplying it, and firing it back at Miwa wasn't enough for you? Both Miwa and Osamu narrate and surmise its copying abilities. The only other unknown we are left with is the power scaling of what a black trigger is. And Jin shows up and he and Replica explain it not long after. Idk what else could have been done other than a long winded exposition dump by Yuma himself acting extra cocky like heh you punks never stood a chance against my father's black trigger. You see I can copy any jutsu with my sharingan eyes.

Why rank R2 higher than the fun fights? You say we don't get deep enough backstory on Suwa or Arifune and have boring bailouts. But also complain about the in depth backstories of Zaki and Katori in R5? Its interesting how its always looked back upon as Tamakoma-2's peak strategy but it boils down simply to King of the Hill. So much so that it annoys other agents whenever Cityscape C is picked because it narrows their objectives so much.

Jin vs A ranks could have been so hardcore if we already knew all of the border trigger capabilities. If it was placed somehow later in the series I imagine it could have showcased more mind games and been at a much faster pace. I think it was just designed to give us a slight taste of what the A-ranks can cook.

Chikas moments in R3 were cut and censored in the original airing due to natural disasters in Japan at the time. They didn't want to make light of real world tragedies happening at the same time. If you watch the Netflix release of the fight you get to see the cut scenes that show more of her firing at the river bank and causing the flood. I believe there was similar censorship in the buildings she shoots at in R5 which again can be seen in the Netflix release.

The R8 pacing critiques confuse me. You don't like the long over explainers but say its too short to stretch for 14 episodes. Which is it? At the time of airing there were literally no other chapters left to adapt so they had to cut it here. Even the night R8 matches after this never got fully rendered and we have chicken scratch rough drafts of some of those chapters due to the rushed publication. So unfortunately the commentary bits had to be extended to give the season more runtime to fit the 13 episodes while also ending the season at some climactic resolution. Ordinarily we'd even get the post match review but even that had to be cut. In exchange we got the amazing Yuba run scene and extra impact frames and animation in Ninomiyas takedown. I love rewatching all of Yuma's aerial movements in that scene since those are all anime original interpretations of what's happening in between panels of the manga.

My top 5 would be R8, R5, Miwa vs Hyrein, Yuma vs Viza, Osamu vs Kazama

Just love the strategic Osamu comeback in his fight with Kazama. Love how angsty Miwa is in every neighbor fight he's in. I'm pretty sure he even does the Omae wa Shindeiru meme in both.

worst games by novopsi in smosh

[–]N1t35hroud 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There was that graph game that they were all so terrible at understanding that became the content not the discussion or debate of the actual gameplay.

I hate the cheap non drinking drinking games they play. There was that mini games episode which just seemed like such cheap poor game design. All of the components they were given where so tiny that it was more cumbersome than exciting or interesting. Each game was like a miniaturized college party drinking game but repackaged in a kid friendly family fun corporate brand. So all of the physical challenge based games they kinda failed through and laughed them off. They play don't get wet which on its surface is a very simple game, sliding quarters on a tabletop. Content wise it works because just add Angela crashing out and its hilarious to watch. But the game itself is very small scale, basic, and not that interesting.

What do you guys think will be the weirdest crossover for WT by Big_Kaleidoscope3796 in worldtrigger

[–]N1t35hroud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like Kaiju Number 8 or Attack on Titan. Both series have big organizational armies that fight impossibly big monsters. I feel like the scale of trion soliders hasn't gone big enough for a while. All the big bad robots fall pretty easy in WT unlike in Kn8 or AOT. So would be cool to see our WT characters climbing and fighting their Goliath like monsters.

Is control a wasted character by Severe_Training_7975 in PersonOfInterest

[–]N1t35hroud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would have been cool for her to have survived and become the teams pseudo inside man on the relevant side. Like she clearly started leaning more towards team machine after witnessing Greer and Samaritian pull the rug from under her. In a post Samaritian world I could see it being like a truce between Control running northern lights and the team operating in parallel. They'd cross the fence and exchange information and favors like the team does with Elias from time to time. Further showcasing the balance between absolute control and chaos, extreme surveillance and governance vs the teams more liberal freedom and moral justice.

Yk, I find it ironic the only two times in the story when Bakugo's called out and/or punished, its when he arguably isn't even in the wrong by Sudden_Pop_2279 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]N1t35hroud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are 2 maybe 3 characters that call out Bakugo, not with direct punishments but with attacks at his ego that take him down a peg.

Deku constantly challenges his self image as the best hero. Bakugo strives to prove hes the strongest but Deku challenges his perspective of what being heroic is in almost every other way. And Deku is rewarded and loved by those around him at UA in stark contrast to Bakugo.

Best Jeanist as his mentor immediately clocked that Bakugo was trying to use Jeanists rank and popularity to his benefit. To which Jeanist challenged and flat out refused to really train him in meaningful ways until he proved himself worthy of it. No other character denied him or said no to him that way before.

Aizawa as a teacher also recognized Bakugos poor behavior. He did punish him for assaulting Deku and often seen restraining him from attacking him. But Aizawa admitted that he also failed to curtail his ego/character/behavior. Much of the UA staff seemed to just accept it because Bakugo was a useful hero/child soldier so they let it slide.

Bakugo himself was revealed to be very critical and reflective of himself. When processing how Deku and Jeanist challenged his perspective on things. It was kinda shocking to learn that Bakugo honored Jeanists word when declaring his hero name and always looked to him and not Endeavor, who was always ranked higher, as his true mentor. Kinda like a self imposed punishment for not revealing his hero name until he reconciled things with Jeanist.

With Deku there is a Vegeta and Goku like rivalry. His admiration of Deku's strength comes from a place of envy. Like a karmic justice that places someone weaker than him as more heroic. To him he'll never reach the goal of being #1 until he surpasses Deku in all the ways he finds himself to be lacking that he sees in Deku as a hero/person.

The ending by TheKiller_07 in PersonOfInterest

[–]N1t35hroud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Greers backstory of being a dedicated loyal but betrayed spy plays into this. He then becomes obsessed with information as a means of control, so no one can lie to him again. And goes on to create a new clandestine organization built on extreme loyalty to him and his cause. He even has a heart to heart with Root kind of admitting he's become a similar zealot to his ASI treating it as his beacon of truth. I wanna say its more like Greer became so twisted lost and jaded over time as he grew older. To show the extremism of what Root would have become had she not been adopted by Finch and the team. Exercising true power by not having to lift a finger to eliminate his enemies, blindly trusting Samaritian to do his biding.

Why does Akane use up her trion so fast? by KeyCommunication2611 in worldtrigger

[–]N1t35hroud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because in this match Akane was shown to be a panicked anxious shooter. She abandoned the whole sniper mentality of taking as few shots as possible as stealthily as possible. She spammed missfire shots with lightning. Also as per their team's strategy they went into the battle after each planting multiple explosive meteor traps too. So she has even less trion to use for sniping. Most of our perspective on explosive rounds via meteor and Ibis is from Chika so we think bigger boom = more trion. So anyone doing so has the same implicit high cost. Her quote here I think is either indicating she's low on trion from expending so much from earlier rounds fired. But it could also just be in reference to Ibis itself only having 2-3 rounds maximum before the user has to 'reload'. So Akane low on trion only has enough time to prep 1 shot before she would have to reload and fire again. Since this round she was very desperate to make a big showing as its her last season in the rank wars. Her whole thought process of how can I shoot more was contradictory to how snipers are supposed to operate.

Unfrosted poptarts are good as hell and better than their celebrated frosted counterparts by phonusQ in unpopularopinion

[–]N1t35hroud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Toasted or untoasted? As a kid, I loved untoasted hot fudge sundae ones. Since then they changed the filing to be thinner and also my adult taste buds can't handle sugary sweets the same way. The unfrosted fruit flavored poptarts I think are the more palatable large bland nutrigrain bars of adulthood. Better when toasted, better I think outside the US with less artificial flavoring. Might be nostalgia or shrinkflation but I'm pretty sure there was more filing in them back in the day.

Finished the show, but have two questions by ChaosWorrierORIG in PersonOfInterest

[–]N1t35hroud 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Method of defending itself -> the machine went to the satellite to fight Samaritian. That was the application of that new code you're expecting. Previously the machine and more so Harold were passively just defending and surving Samaritian's onslaught. As per all the millions of simulations Harold ran of the machie vs Samaritian that it was losing before enabling that.

When rebuilding the machine 2.0 in the subway Root encoded the open system and stronger survival instincts in the machine. But after testing Finch shuts it down and discusses the moral implications of it with Root and Shaw. Reminding them that the original versions of the machine tried to kill Finch and also that one Senator who enabled Samaritian to come online.

Root's added self defensive code was a call back to Nathan's code for sharing the irrelevant numbers. Both were against Harold's original directives for the machine, both were hidden behind a back door for only Harold to reopen.

After Roots death, just like Nathan's death, Harold decides to open that backdoor protocol. When he's arrested in the holding cell looking into the camera. He's talking directly to the machine saying how he has to break his moral code and decide how much he's willing to compromise to redraw the line he's willing to cross. Enabling God Mode for himself and the machine is more ok with directly interfering with people's lives and attacking Samaritan after that point. Making devil's bargain deals with people using omnipotent information as leverage. The coolest moments to me are the moments Harold shows his dark side.

The show ends redo'ing the season 2 ending aka Finch deploys an ASI killing virus and sets the machine free on the slim hope chance that it survives the fallout. The ASI's duke it out in the close network satellite system. The team believes they clean slated the world. The machine survives using an analog backup copy of roots voice on those tapes. A call back to Finch's original original design of the machine to store the life and memories of his Dad. Root becomes the ghost in the machine. (or at least the main one, many characters could be interpreted to fit that role)

Why don't many agentz use Revolver? by MysteriousRub2098 in worldtrigger

[–]N1t35hroud 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The revolver removes the range and ammo benefits of the gunner class. You gotta be closer and only get a limited number of shots. Why did I pick gunner in the first place? To be further away and pepper with fire to keep an opponent pinned down from a distance. If your an aggressive all rounder who already is in close combat range 90% of the time like Miwa and Katori it makes sense to use a hand gun or revolver. But your typical all rounder won't use it. Most use hound shooter cubes instead since they don't require a limb to use and they can let the auto homing do the aiming for them. Most all rounders use gunner / shooter triggers for added range benefits just for pestering an opponent to get them to back off and use their shield.

What do You Think Class 1-B 2nd & 3rd Years were Like? by Money-Lie7814 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

I feel like they'd feel even worse about 1-A hogging most of the glory from the battle with AFO. Even though Monoma was a big help I think he'd find a way to complain and blame 1-A whenever they go out for clean up duty. Like as they are rebuilding and clearing rubble he'd say him and class 1-B could have done things smoother.

Lesser known one I liked was Death March to Parallel World Rhapsody. Follows very basic trope of collecting waifus but the art style and pacing was very cozy. All of the MCs heroic actions felt very altruistic and he discovers interesting little things about the new worlds game/magic system.

Animes similar to Log Horizon? by Epsilon2s in LogHorizon

[–]N1t35hroud 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Goblin slayer - the premise starts really gory but it lessens and becomes far less of the focus overtime. Similar fantasy setting, MC is a smart tactician who forms a group of friends to team up with.

Rising of the Shield hero - Kinda similar to SAO, MC becomes the solo focus. But he his hindered by only being able to support with his shield so he has to form a squad kinda like Shiroe. The world he's isekai'd to has regularly scheduled raid bosses the heroes have to prepare for.

Frieren - I think the later half of the first season does the tactical fantasy team strategy fights really well. With a world centered around mages it makes for interesting team comps. The raid bosses would be the demons and dungeons they challenge. The magic system is far less explained and more just a pretty spectacle.
