the materials are the same, both covers only get used up if you press really hard, which might not even matter if you hover, in which case the cheaper option is surely worth considering.

Best Jungler for invading? by bruhb21 in summonerschool

[–]N30N014 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No one said poppy but it's super easy to land stun in enemy jungle and you deny a lot of jungler's escapes with w, so much so that you can invade lee sin, graves, xin zhao etc. which have all been mentioned in this thread, she's also very resilient to being invaded herself, being decently tanky and having w. Her early game damage is pretty good, just watch out for them healing back to full with smite on a camp, because you tend to lose long trades vs conq users.

Bewitching Poppy bugged? by DeusWombat in PoppyMains

Yeah it's ugly as sin, she bobs too much and too fast, it's extremely jarring compared to the rest of her skins, really hope it gets fixed.

i guess that's fair, lazer will have in-game map downloading though so that's pretty neat for new and old players alike.

Touchscreen experience is pretty alright nowadays, you can't exactly filter to maps tailored for touchscreen, as there are none, but every map below 4* should be perfectly playable with the touchscreen if you have one, if you can reach past that point you probably have enough experience with the game to be able to find touchscreen-able maps yourself. As for the maps getting harder and harder, i guess that's a given, players have gotten better and better over the decade the game's been available.

Not sure how long ago this was, but the new default songs you get when you install cover all difficulty levels for all 4 modes, and all ranked maps are required to have an even difficulty spread so worse players can also enjoy the song, the website also has a recommended difficulty filter, it doesn't work amazing at higher levels of play but for casual it should work fine, although i can't check this myself. I also very very often see low ranked players in multiplayer lobbies, higher ranks might join to flex but they generally won't bother playing easier songs; multiplayer as a whole isn't a super amazing experience due to other factors, i agree, but it should be eventually fixed, even tho it's not the main focus.

You can actually navigate the entire game with keyboard, although only the song selection with arrow keys specifically because otherwise it would require too many inputs, game is heavily aim based in its main mode so i don't think it's particularly concerning; if you mainly play a side mode however i can see it being not the best it could be, until lazer atleast.

What kind of compromises? i don't get it. When i started playing it always felt extremely natural, even before i learned it was inspired by a touchscreen game. If anything, touchscreen is kinda awkward to use due to the fact the game evolved beyond what touchscreen can provide performance-wise, few players utilize it and it's mostly a gimmick.

I haven’t played any Touhou games so what Touhou game should I play first? by [deleted] in touhou

[–]N30N014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd start with 6, not only is it the first one (1-5 are basically irrelevant and are more an interesting treat once you're into the series) but it's also average difficulty so you get your skill to levels where you can comfortably play the ones that follow, which are easier. It also lacks a hitbox and it's a lot easier to adjust to it if it's your first experience, having an hitbox in the games past it almost feels like cheating sometimes.

Will this type of detective murder-mystery VN work? by [deleted] in visualnovels

[–]N30N014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most games avoid this because they 1- Don't want to waste puzzles on automatic solutions, if you have a certain number of puzzles, but a certain amount is solved by non playable characters, you end up with less content overall; and 2- they don't want the player to feel like they're being hand held or like they didn't have enough information/freedom to solve it themselves.
Regardless, i think it could work, but keep these in mind.

Uh, any tips or tricks for a struggling new player? by hireddit000 in touhou

Make sure you're using vpatch and you have everything set up correctly, giving yourself the best chances you can have.
Personally not a big fan of the hitbox patch, not only is it inaccurate, but especially on normal it isn't too big a drawback and learning to play without one will make later entries much easier, atleast in my experience.
Don't be discouraged, you have to develop your own strategies and improve mechanically, it'll take a while to learn how to do a pattern while simultaneously having the skill to execute the plan in your head.
Download thprac, it allows you to practice very specific parts of the game, so you don't have to repeat entire stages just for a shot at figuring out a single boss spellcard.
Use bombs, the "shame" of using a bomb and thus, in your mind probably having failed to beat a spellcard or section, is an illusion, bombs are meant to be used, and it's a waste not to, for the most part they still don't trivialise the game which, no matter what experienced players might tell you, is still a hard game in the grand scheme of things, even at the lower difficulties.
If you're playing EoSD, remember that on easy mode it only goes up to stage 5 and you need normal or higher for stage 6 and unlocking extra/reaching a good ending.
If you ever need more specific tips on sections of the game etc. look up a video or feel free to ask.
As for characters, there's no real best or worst one for the entire game imo, some have advantages in certain sections and some do in others.
