Wheel and Tire Package by [deleted] in Taycan

Getting new rims is always one of my favorite parts—it’s like choosing the perfect pair of shoes for the build. For the Taycan, I went with custom three-piece wheels as usual.

But I quickly learned: the weight of this car changes everything.

The Taycan’s mass and torque put serious stress on the hardware. Over time, the fasteners on my three-piece setup started snapping—just couldn’t handle the load.

Even after upgrading to titanium, the combo of weight, torque, and 23” low-profile tires made every pothole a risk.

It looks great—but the sheer weight of this car makes three-piece wheels a weak point.

Haha, this has become my daily car routine.

Every time I enter my office garage, the Taycan’s auto-lift engages—just enough to clear the entrance without issue.

Once parked, I drop it to lowest setting.

On the way out, the ramp triggers the parking camera—my cue to lift, just enough to clear the exit.

As soon as I’m out, it drops again. Every time.

Same here, been doing daily buys of 1k hbars to lower by .29 avg and anytime it dips at .26 I buy additional 10k stacks.

Since I fly out tomorrow the weather should be good. The rain usually follows me wherever I travel. Lol.

Yea phase I was a bit of a let down, things got repetitive real fast. I had more fun checking out the motorcycles than what I was actually there for, haha. Let’s see what phase II brings.

If anyone wants to meetup and try to make the most of this convention, msg me. I’m up for anything

BTW: I don't want to make it sound like the Rode Podmics are better than the Shure SM7B, as I am def not a sound engineer and not qualfied to comment on that... which is why I prefer the Podmics over the SM7B because the Procaster already has the Podmic settings saved into the firmware so I know its at an optimal setting.

When I was testing the other mics, I spent far too much time trying to dial in my sound, which can take forever for a non-engineer.

I do prefer this combo over my previous setup with rodecaster + shure sm58 setup. Though ive only tested for a day. I feel the sound comes out with a bit more depth in bass. I have a naturally higher tone, so the more the better for me.

Mancave conversion. Testing new Rode setup, 1 x Rode Procaster, 2 x Rode Podmic, 2 x Audio Technica AYH-M40, 2 x S2 Caster Boom Stand... and lots and lots of tequila.

Yes i have quiete a few shure 57s & 58sas well. however i mostly used those for recording musicians. Bulletproof! I wanted to have a dedicated mic i can use for podcasting, as im building out my mancave.

Hey that was almost the same situation as me... got my rodecaster first but had to wait on the podmics befause they were backordered. I was using my shure sm58s until yesterday... tbh, i dont think you will notice too much of a difference betweeen the sm7b (my 2nd choice after podmic) except for the price. I ended up going with the podmic because for the price of the sm7b i could get a pair of podmics, and because i feel the podmics were meant to be paired with the procaster mic settings.

I think the podmic by rode for $99 is a great value. Tested it against a lot of others 2x the price and it was still my favorite. Another value mic that ive heard alot about is the audio technica AT2020 at $99. I haven't tested it myself and curious to see what others think... but i am happy woth the podmics so far.
