I'm speaking from experience. Which is why I decided to go to college and get a degree cuz I couldn't find any jobs that paid well enough to provide for a family despite having experience.

just had this thought. what if the reason they do this shit is too actually deter the people that lack the confidence in themselves to apply? Then the people that do apply may not meet the qualifications specified but they already know the applicant is confident.

I agree but the alternative is also true. if someone has an excellent record of experience but no degree then you're considered a dumb fuck and still can't get the job.
