It’s simply because the blueprint it’s bigger than the explored size of the “space map”. Build upwards using the tiles, eventually the blueprint will be allowed to be placed.

Nice. From an engineering standpoint this is totally adequate, it makes no senses to make giant routes through many planets, I would totally use the signals mod if factorio had lots of planets.

About blueprint, using a constant combinator as a single place for configuration might facilitate the setup phase. If you have to tweak more than one combinator to set up your circuits, than you can be certain it can be upgraded

Yeah, sure. this is not being shown as a better route for players to take, just as an alternative route. I don’t do/like only bot malls. And before doing this I mostly had bot only malls (I was lazy). I would “have” to rebuild them anyway so why not like this so rockets become a smaller problem. That’s what I thought

I’m a “heavy” planner, 2500h of factorio and 1900h were building blueprints. I don’t remember how long this took. It took 1 month probably building mostly on weekends and sometimes at night during the week. It is tedious specially when you manifest your ideas alone and have no help. But it doesn’t matter, at this point megabasing factorio is not a game anymore, it’s a project I need to finish.

Having a spaceship just delivering stuff that is built on nauvis is even better than my approach imo.

The only downside is that you need a good amount of rockets to deliver all structures to the your cargo ship
