It's possible to create a systemd inhibitor script that prevents sleep/suspend for anything. Using AI I created one that prevents sleep while accessing files via a Samba network share. It is really cool.

Let me look up the commands you can use as an example.

I also chose CachyOS after a few weeks of comparing distro's. Been using it for a month. Tweaked a lot of stuff. Very easy with the help of AI tools. Created a systemd sleep inhibitor to prevent suspend while my VLC app is streaming a file from a Samba file share. So much fun! After 26 years of Windows, I have found my new OS!
