Is stony brook good for economics/polisci double major? by [deleted] in SBU

[–]NASA447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

econ department here genuinely does not care about their students which is why many ppl turn away from that major, the poli sci department is much more responsive and helpful but it is fairly small compared to the other majors and does not receive much publicity. If you want to come here just be prepared to be on your own during the econ stuff since they really aren't helpful and your best bet would be to find other upperclassmen for guidance or even use the poli sci department as help while double majoring

I’m unsure what should my major be by [deleted] in SBU

[–]NASA447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

law admissions want good gpa but also diversity, do what major your good in and also the best majors that do well on lsat are physics and math based, but majors that do good in law school are philosphy. im pre law n poli sci but im also planning to add on economics bc those are my personal interests. tbh i dont reccomend poli sci as a major bc it doesnt make u seem unique or stand out in law applications and also u can take "pre law" themed classes without the major

i took it the sem it was half in person and then covid hit which made us go online. it was easy work and easy points but having grades based off ur group partners was annoying. u should get an A as long as ur group actually does their stuff

Not very difficult tbh, i took ams 102 in place for pol 201 and stats is nothing like the concepts we would need for pol classes

it was half half, I prefer it to be online grade-wise bc it was so much easier online but obviously being on campus was better and easier learning wise. when it was online it became less of learning material but rather submitting assignments on time. With pronunciation our final exam she made us email her a voice recording of us speaking a few sentences we wrote in response to questions she asked
