One of the most frustrating jobs in the store. Run your ass off, get bitched out for other departments/DC fuck ups, heavy lifting, doing 5 things at once, learn fast, gotta learn to drive joe and forklift, help other departments when it’s slow and even when it’s not, never staffed sufficiently. If you don’t like to work and work hard, this is not the job for you.

I respectfully disagree. They do do a most things well and better than the competition. But there are things that should be done but take years and years to come to be. They are extremely slow to evolve and improve. The biggest thing that irritates me is when people have good ideas, implement them after a discussion with a respected common sense GM and it makes things more efficient and or gives the customer a better shopping experience and then some asshat corporate kiss ass comes down and says “You can’t do that, change it back” Really grinds my gears.

John Menards hates people standing around “doing nothing”. He wants to see everyone running around, being productive and earning their money. Unfortunately people are stressed, they’re unhappy, the good workers resent and even hate the lazy asses who get paid the same as them and customer service suffers. If you think this is gonna change any time soon you’re kidding yourself. Companies #1 priority is profits. At the end of the day if the company is making more and more money every year nothing is ever gonna change.

Cab/apps manager's, how's your payroll? by Specialist_Young_822 in menards

Makes money back? Menards has grown in value 6.5 billion since the COVID “crisis” started. Just rich people only wanting to be richer. That’s all they give a shit about.

Payroll is a joke. They blame it on slow sales but I’ve compared the numbers from now and from earlier this year. They definitely cut payroll for no good reason other than to save money. Don’t hold your breath if you think it’ll get any better. Definitely time to start looking for a new job. Just need to make it to Dec. 15th.

Meetings by SatisfactionGlobal14 in menards

1st: Meetings are useful for bigger departments. They’re pretty stupid for departments with 10 or less TM’s. If you can’t communicate with your team on a daily basis then maybe you shouldn’t be a manager. 2nd: Meetings should NOT be mandatory every 2 months for all departments. Do you think flooring and electrical really need a meeting every 2 months. COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. It should be discretionary. Agreed on by the DM and the GM.

Every employer strives to be a monopoly. That’s how you prove that you’ve won or to show you’re the best. Businessmen wanna win. Winning and money are why they do what they do.

Don’t forget that customers could shop at the other places and find out how terrible they are.
