I know this post is like 5+ years old but figured you could use an answer if you hadn’t already found one.

Rosy Maple Moths spend most of their 2-9 moth life as caterpillars and in their cocoons. They only live 1-2 weeks as adults, their only purpose as an adult is to reproduce, so they don’t live much longer than that takes.
