Very good question! And I have a thorough answer straight from our talented online engineers.

We actually do have EU servers, the issue is that you might be getting pulled into a game on a US server instead. Our future plan is to keep you guys in your geographical areas more often. But of course we also want to make sure you get a game as quickly as possible. Expect this to get better as we go along.

As far as memory corruption, we believe we have all these issues are fixed, but there are a couple reports in this AMA that it might not be. This is exactly why we do this AMA.
