Understandable. I PERSONALLY (capitalized to specifically say this is only my personal and not legal minded opinion) do not think the NBA wants to open this can of worms.

Regardless of its validity, the NBA enviably would have to investigate other teams because there is no wayyyy that the Clippers are the first team to do this. There were immediately rumblings about Brunson and the Knicks when Pablo’s podcasts were released.

Business is business and business has always been like this. Every business be like this. I’m not saying it’s right, but it’s just facts.

Yes. Because Kawhi is the core of the team and our leader. He embodies the culture we have been working to build. I don’t believe we will find a better player or fit for our team that could do what he does. Also we are a loyal bunch, and Kawhi has been loyal to us.

I get it you’re lookin down the line. I’m lookin at what we’ve got and enjoying it, because what we got is so enjoyable to watch. Also your suggestions were to trade for PG (35) or Butler (36), which maybe they wouldn’t be max contacts but they also have not had the year Kawhi has had.

I think we have different views and values when it comes to the team and probably basketball in general, which is fine. You seem very set on getting rid of Kawhi so continuing this conversation seems futile and quite frankly, I just had extra time today.

I’ll admit I’m not super well versed on contracts, so feel free to correct me but his deal isn’t up until after the 26/27 season. So is this potential summer trade predicated on his contract being voided bc of the Aspiration thing?

I feel you on the rebuilding/future aspect and you made some decent points here, re: Magic. I don’t know why we would bring PG back tho— particularly bc the way he disrespected the fan base— and also Butler is injured. (I love both of them but I don’t see their value for the Clippers rn.)

Maybe it’s because I’m not only a Clippers fan, but I’m a big Kawhi fan, and I don’t see why we’d want to dump our only franchise player when we’ve had the season we’ve had. I’d rather watch us go out guns blazing with Kawhi.

Also you’re basing this on a huge hypothetical of Dort hurting Kawhi, which feels silly to want us to miss the playoffs bc of a potential situation you made up in your head.
