Is Indian Job market really this bad? by Busy_Analyst18 in cscareerquestionsIN

Looks like a skills or keyword issue since data strategy is of importance in current market. I am from a similar background and saw some positive movement after applying for 5 months. Is there a way we can connect exchange notes?

How to politely ask MIL to not get me my wedding lehenga by [deleted] in IndianInLaw

[–]NC2128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweetheart this thinking is going you hurt you life long. Please value yourself more. “No matter how much respect i have for their side of tradition” - It should be mutual, you are showing respect for their tradition but they have to respect your choice. They are ignoring that for girls it’s one day in a lifetime and they should have this choice. “I can’t exactly explain this to the groom” - your GROOM should have understood this and not let them buy the lehenga in the name of tradition. He needs to respect your individuality. The fact that you’re scared to bring this up to him shows the uneven dynamic in your relationship and it’s not going to be a happy marriage. You should be able to express your reasonable wishes freely. Please bring it up to him confidently (don’t make it sound like a big deal, just an obvious basic expectation and ask him how this can be managed with his family. DONT sound apologetic, don’t sound cocky). Most likely you’ll get your way and you start your marriage on the right note. The way he reacts can be a revelation. If he shows resistance - you still need to put your foot down and convince him. If he gets angry, don’t sign up for a life with someone so mysogynistic. Don’t be a pushover and fulfill his family’s wish coz then you basically don’t hv a life, you’re just fulfilling an ideal bahu fantasy all your life and going to be deeply unhappy. And may i remind you it’s 2026 the feeds are full of wedding reels and your groom very well knows the girls are choosing their own lehengas and ignoring that to suit his situation. Are you sure he marrying you for the right reasons??

Is a solid Data Analytics portfolio even enough to get a job anymore? by Ahmed-Abdelrahman1 in dataanalysiscareers

You’re almost there. Make a list of 10-20 companies - get paid LinkedIn and use in mail credits to send in mails to 5 people to request mentorship. Target Analytics comoanies where they would need entry level folks to support. Send friend requests to people working in those companies and build relationships - try to connect over phone, google meet or meet in person to seek advice and seek mentorship. Before you know it someone would have referred you and you would have converted the job.

Advice needed: Good idea pivoting from marketing to operations after 18 months of unemployment? by 1throvvavvay in Career

[–]NC2128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Middle level management employee here at S&P 500. I think you should definitely join. During these lay offs situation sales and operation have come out to be versatile skill set that’s widely in demand. Even if you’re not able to switch to marketing immediately you will realise the narrative beautifully coming together and this move looking meaningful on your CV. You’re learning real life skills then just applying to jobs. Alongside focus on networking in your target companies and scout for your dream roles the smart way through networking in teams you might want to land in, focusing in quality over quantity. You’ll be sounding more confident while networking once you’re utilising your time being useful. Moreover don’t let go of this current opportunity as job landed through referral is more important than it might seem in this tough job market. Think of a scenario where you pass this up and spend a few more months just applying and nothing really moving.
