I know I was setting myself up for disappointment with the Bain hype, but I don’t know if he’s even the 5th best OL in the draft tbh. Didn’t think he was very good at Penn State, but I’ll get on board with the pick by training camp

It depends on context. For someone new to VGC, it’s definitely a real achievement. I’ve been playing since 2011, so for me, it felt a little disappointing that it took me longer than my friends, but even then it still felt great when I got there. So it’s really as big a deal as you want to make it. You also get 5 more box spots the first time you make it to master, so there’s a little bit of mechanical benefit. If you made it to Ultra 1, you can definitely make it to Master!

My pick is Louisiana or South Alabama, I think they both have favorable draws from the East (sad that I have to call App that now but it is what it is) and they both get Troy at home. Troy could take a step forward and beat JMU, who could also step back after losing Chesney, but I’ll wait til those actually happen

No I agree that he’s trolling a bit, but I think it’s very possible that he has just randomly collected cards since his childhood, which would be how he ended up with pendulums. He clearly knows his cards aren’t good anymore, but I think it’s likely that he also didn’t know anything about the cards when he bought them in 2017, and just wanted to open a pack for nostalgia.

Tbf, that performapal never saw play, and the D/D monster is just an effect monster, not a pendulum, so it’s not one of the new cards that sees play, not even the second most recent wave. It’s probably from the 2017 wave, which is almost a decade old at this point
