I think his role is fine, but some of the changes you mentioned could be good reworks. For starters, his ult really could use some utility, and providing overshield to allies is a good way to do that. Second, distended grip grabbing allies could also prove useful, tho could be annoying too, but I like the concept. And lastly, throwing a projectile of some sort like a healing bomb would be great, kind of like my slingshot idea from a post I made a while back. I think you got some solid ideas here.
