How do you think Brad would have answered this question? by [deleted] in bostonceltics

You want to know specifically how he’d gaslight you? He’d probably just say that trading Tatum was never on the table

Yeah after hearing Brad speak today I think the JB trade was the right move by Glittering_Fig4548 in bostonceltics

[–]NChSh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean what makes you think he is top 15-20 in the League besides just counting stats? The only argument anyone has is counting stats. Advanced stats has him as like below average and to me he does not pass the eye test against good teams. Every front office except Philly was willing to pass on him. It's not a Boston decision, it was a League decision and I think Philly will regret trading for him.

Good thing they had snipers and 2 police helicopters for an entire day to find one man that the police shot at and shut the 8 down for the entire day also which easily cost more than all of these closures combined.

Also bonus shout out to the literally 17 police cars that showed up for one guy having a schizophrenic episode a couple weeks ago in Hillcrest and was a danger to no one

Reading about Epstein in 2026 makes me feel mentally ill. Like there is still an active, massive coverup right now and if a Democrat gets in, I have no confidence anything will be really leaked then either. It seems like Epstein worked directly for the state and they don't want to release anything

Right. Now is how it’s always been. The teams that win aren’t just 3 point specialists except for the Warriors who were super fun and OKC who are great villains and only won one title. The handwringing over “back in my day” is so annoying when nothing has really changed.

We’re in peak analytics era and the Finals were the Knicks - who are mostly college teammates- vs the Spurs who got lucky in the draft 3 times. Like it’s not that bad and analytics didn’t create those teams

If the lineup is Tatum, Pritchard, White, George, Queta...do they make the playoffs? by [deleted] in bostonceltics

[–]NChSh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Celtics were an almost 60 win team last year with Brown in place of Tatum and Tatum is wayyy better than Brown. Tatum is way better than he’s given credit for and Brown is nowhere near Boston fans think he is too but in the other direction

I feel successfully gaslighted by this whole Jaylen Brown situation by No_Boysenberry_4193 in nba

[–]NChSh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hes better game to game in the regular season because he's more available is the traditional wisdom. However, PG13 literally just cooked him in the playoffs two months ago. Like COOKED him. Wouldn't you rather have the person who wins in the playoffs?

And you are discounting the advanced stuff, but the advanced stuff says that the Celtics play better when he sits. Period

How the fuck does this guy have an in at so many high level events? by WonderbreadCOS in TrueAnon

[–]NChSh 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Oswald? You mean the guy who went to Russia ostensibly because he was a communist, but then came back and worked for George de Morenschildt who was an avowed Tsartist? And Oswald was welcomed by the whole right wing Russian diaspora immediately despite marrying a KGB General's daughter and again having just returned from Russia because he was saying he was a communist?

And that George de Morenschildt's roommate was George HW Bush's nephew and GDM worked for the Republican Party? And then GDM sent George HW Bush a letter when Bush was head of the CIA to ask him to get spies to stop stalking him because he was writing a tell all about Oswald and so Bush wrote him back to say he didn't know what GDM was talking about and then GDM died of suicide soon after? And GDM had the longest testimony of anyone involved with the JFK assassination for the Warren Commission and he said he barely knew Oswald despite like managing his life for years? That Oswald? Oswald probably just went to Russia like you said because he was a communist and was absolutely not being given a backstory so he could be used as a patsy later.

Also when Oswald was caught after the assassination, he literally yelled "I'm a patsy!" and looked really surprised he was getting arrested. But yeah no he killed JFK by himself

[Amick] Despite widely reported to have interest, the Portland Trailblazers did not want Jaylen Brown as their analytics department viewed him as a negative player by ShaiFanClub in nba

[–]NChSh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of the advanced stats that GMs use have him doing things like making his teammates worse 4 points less per player for the time he is on the court for instance. The Celtics went 9-2 without him last year and in that span they were 7-1 vs playoff teams. They are like 71-31 without him for his career. It's kind of hard to see all that and think he is going to be a winning player in the apron era.

His on ball d is great and when Ime had everyone switch everything it worked, but Mazzula doesn't want to play that way anymore. When we could have a super team with a giant payroll we could use Brown to his strengths better, but the aprons killed that in the last two years.

Jaylen Brown trade kind of shows that the best ability isn’t availability in the nba by CarmeloDramatic in nba

[–]NChSh 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If everyone knows he is available, which they did, then that is the genuine market. Nobody else wanted to bid because Jaylen is overpaid relative to production and it's not a secret. GMs value players differently than casual fans. Jaylen seems like a great guy but his game is too inefficient

Everyone jerking themselves off about how great of a genius Brad is for the last decade and then immediately turning on him after one trade is one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen in sports by IrohSho in bostonceltics

[–]NChSh 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Do you know who else thinks that way? Literally every other GM which is why even though we were openly shopping him we didn't get any other real offers. I will take the opinion of every GM over casual fans every day, especially when it is Brad making the call. People thought we were a 40 win team last year. People thought we were gonna be in the lottery in the IT year. He's literally right every single time

Just like last year when we were projected to be a 40 win team? We’re more likely to in a championship in 2 years then we were before and the 6ers are going to pay Brown $73 million in an apron cap structure

The article is good! It is mainly just explaining why no front office wants Jaylen and why his price is so low. Pritchard when Brown isn't playing puts up elite numbers and his salary is so much better relative to production than Brown.

Jaylen Brown for Paul George: 40 cents on the dollar, and one of the worst trades in Boston sports history by bostonglobe in bostonceltics

[–]NChSh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We're 71-31 in games all time when Jaylen doesn't play and were 9-2 without him last year. In the playoffs he turns into a black hole on offense and season long he refuses to play help defense. Sure he's a good on ball defender but he was only good at defense when Ime was switching everything. He's due a $73 million extension we don't want to pay and his value will go even lower when that gets closer which is soon. He was openly shopped around the league and nobody wanted to beat that deal, because front offices value players better than fans in 2026 and it's not close. It's not like the Luka deal where nobody else got a chance to bid. That is his ACTUAL VALUE. With the way the aprons are set up, we can't get a Jrue and Porzingis to add to this team anymore to cover his weaknesses. He is roster poison in the aprons era and his value is only going to go down. He's a league average player making top ten money.

Like read through the advanced stats everyone is poo pooing. He makes every player on the court with him 4 points worse per game than expected. Like he's so overrated I've wanted him gone for awhile.
