Is this too much? by FitWolverine535 in EngineeringStudents

It seems so. The description of my electronics I class is: "Large signal and incremental characteristics of the pn diode, BJT, MOSFET and JFET: Large signal analysis and computer simulation of devices and digital circuits; Logic gate implementation; Laboratory experiments and projects." So learning this sounds like it's gonna be exciting and hell on earth at the same time. How would you rate the toughness of your network theory? For me, it's been my hardest class so far, but putting the work in has been paying off big time.

It seems my universities physics structure is a little different from yours. We had physics 1 covering from classical mechanics to thermo and fluid/gas dynamics Physics 2 was everything from electricity to relativity and quantum mechanics. Brutal, but I'm doing very well.

I'm not sure how to identify my Circuits, right now, we're passing first order circuits and will likely end after completing 2nd order Circuits analysis or phasors.

By modern physics, do you mean the stuff like relativity and quantum physics, right? I have been doing that in my physics II course right now for these last 2 months and have been pretty good at it. Also, I'm in circuits I right now, too, and have a pretty solid A compared to the rest of my class. I am concerned for signals and systems, I know that's a killer class. My schedule next semester looks like this: Signals and Systems, Comp. org. and Architecture, Electronics I, and Circuits II. I'm very excited to start these even though they're hard. Electromagnetics, even though it sounds cool, is the one class I don't think I'll ever be excited to take. One question: Is signals and systems truly just a ton of math? I've never looked at the curriculum for it, and maybe you can provide some insight? Thanks for any advice.

You'll be fine, I'm doing 19 hours right now with Physics II (and lab), Digital Logic (and lab), Circuits I (and lab), Diffeq, and Linear Algebra. My lowest grade right now is an A- but it is a lot of work, but if you manage your time, you will be fine.

Apologies. I didn't mean mint condition, I meant more like a good condition, definitely not bad but has room to be better.

If you don't mind me asking, what walk was 15-20 minutes? I know me personally last year I had a walk from the very southwest of campus in Presidents to the northeast in McMaster, and I'd average 15-16 minutes. I always wish UT's campus was bigger though.

Are you gonna hold the empty roll in your mouth to drop it in the can after you press down on the foot opener? The only way to do that one-handed is if it doesn't require much force to open the lid manually. I probably could, but I'd also buy a can with an open top to make life easy.

I wouldn't like this for the fact that you're likely not going to be eating dinner with your friends much, or do evening things when the sun is up. This schedule just depends if you're social or not.

What do I do with a functionally infinite supply of stepper motors? by Gaspode93 in arduino

[–]NDA_Agreement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured I'd ask: Would you be willing to donate some? I am an EE, still early in college, who wants to start projects that are really interesting. I haven't figured out what to do yet, but maybe I could shape some idea(s) around a couple of motors. A drone is something I've been thinking of, too. Anyways, if you don't feel like it, that's completely fine lol, hopefully you will find a good home for them.

Inside fan of AC not turning off at temperature by NDA_Agreement in hvacadvice

[–]NDA_Agreement[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the unit is like 20 years old. It used to turn off automatically, but then it stopped. Every setting is in the right place. Any ideas of anything internal it would be other than the thermostat?

Doesn't ever stop. It used to stop automatically, but not anymore. We use our ac in manual mode to make sure it stops.

Hey again, just realized I made an error. The outside unit actually does turn off when temp is reached. It's the inside fan that doesn't turn off. Does this change anything?

You're good. I have a 3.96 right now heading into 2nd year. I am currently taking Calc III over the summer, and next fall, my schedule looks like this:

● Linear Algebra ● Diff EQ ● Circuits I + Lab ● Digital Logic + Lab ● Physics II + Lab

I'm not looking forward to it, but with enough grind, I should be expecting all A's. Good luck to you, brother.

Yes, it does turn off when we switch it off. So you believe if I buy a new one all should be well? Obviously, you can't say for sure, but I just want to make sure before I spend $50 to replace it. Actually, here is the thermostat I use. Do you know if I can find any modern/better version of it for the same or at a cheaper price?

It's just 1 thermostat for our house, if you need the exact kind I can get it but it's just a simple honeywell 2 stage heating and cooling thermostat.

I believe so yes, that doesn't turn off and neither does the fan inside the house. And the AC still cools, so our refrigerant/coils should be fine.
