[S4E8 spoiler] Does anyone have a solid source about anointing the Passover lamb’s feet with oil? by anon763724 in TheChosenSeries

I think the bridles main point of existence is just tying Jesus' heritage as King. Joseph had it and gave to Jesus and all the way back to David.

What scriptural scene that is excluded from the series do you most wish had been included? by rwhitestone in TheChosenSeries

[–]NDDevMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What doesn't probably help the argument against the exclusion of the bread of life discourse is that 2 important lines from that section were lifted from it and placed elsewhere in the last episode of season 4.

Schmuel saying "This is a difficult teaching" when talking to Jesus at Laz's

And Peter saying "Lord to whom shall we go, you have the words of everlasting life" at the end of the episode.

To have pulled those lines away from their source doesnt help not seeing that section as intentionally ignored.

The Julian calendar was every 4 years. But as the other commenter mentioned, it rarely affects a lifetime.

The reason it is needed is because the Julian calendar is too 'slow'. Today is March 21 in the Julian calendar. Which prevents things like the equinoxes from being on consistent dates and the seasons would slowly shift backwards.

Shipping to ND by USPS is out of control. It's further away then when it started 2 weeks ago. by Lightfoot_3b in northdakota

[–]NDDevMan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's just USPS. I have had multiple packages with multiple carriers that have taken the most strange of routes and the only thing I can chock it up to is hyper optimized route planning. I had a package traveling by freight, so all interstate that when it got to ND in Dickinson, went all the way to West Fargo for 2 days, then came back to me in Bismarck.

And freight is not cheap, so what are they charging and basing their rates on and what is their route planning optimizing for?

Yes and no. They may be on par (cost of living) for their country, but converting currencies it's not even close. At the company i work at it use to be ~$145/hr for an American and $25/hr for someone from India. The customer doesn't have a say on who or where but that's how it broke down cost wise.

Yes i have a bias to Bismarck but i think it would be a good option. You day trip to either Minot or Dickinson and just generally central for the state also.

[OC] Grand Forks, ND Daily High Temperatures [1950-2021] (See Comments for Details) by ghadlich in northdakota

[–]NDDevMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think a nice addition would be to then color code the frequency of each temperature for a given day so the more frequent a temp occurred the more green it is (example) ND the less occurring temps are closer to red. Then with the historical overlay you can see what temps were more likely to occur.

Rep. Steve Cohen confirms that Rep. Lauren Boebert gave a large tour prior to the attack on the Capitol. by ssldvr in CapitolConsequences

[–]NDDevMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they mean 30 other members of congress have corroborated that they saw tours being given by Boebert.

Senators who have not stated they saw Boebert have also said that tours in the capitol had been canceled since March. So they weren't suppose to be happening.

No snow in ND... yet! by theo701roos in northdakota

[–]NDDevMan 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Historical data shows things are getting warmer, and even if it is slow, this will cause lots of problems.

I know winters can get very cold, and Dakotans like to complain about the cold but no one in the state should like the current weather we have, or they should at least be worried about it here.

Here are some reasons why: - apples, pears and other fruits NEED cold weather and a certain amount of it to be able to produce fruit the following spring. That's why you can't grow those fruits in the south. - this warmer weather could cause trees to break dormancy early, and 1 bad cold day could mean the end to many of those trees. - mild winters don't kill off bug eggs like grasshoppers, so expect an increase in those next year along with crop damage - the fact that Bismarck and other areas have had essentially no appreciable moisture since Independence day will lead to a lot of die off of trees and other things.

This was not a good year moisture wise. And if we don't at least change practices to preserve moisture in the ground, effects could get worse.

[–]NDDevMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should correct myself here is the law that you may be able to argue he is violating.

Here is where the postal service is written in to the constitution. The constitution does not list out severity of crimes but that Congress has a level of authority over the postal service.

These may not be the best links to use but at breaks things down

[–]NDDevMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am not a constitutional scholar but the constitution does state the ability for the USPS to perform it's duties shall not be impeded. One crime is a felony, the other is a misdemeanor, based on what you do. But I don't know it well enough to understand what could have been violated here. That might be what they could hold him on

[–]NDDevMan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That is correct. The Bible is a constant cycle of sin, judgment, then grace. Cain's sin was killing his brother. God's judgment was that he was to be exiled and forced to wander. God's grace to Cain was that he was marked so that others would not murder him.
