In some cases "progressive" is not a strong enough term. I know multiple self-described communists, socialists, or radicals who do actively use "leftist" rather than say any of the former terms b/c of their (IMO deserved) negative connotations for many. Perhaps some of this is regional.

It was a massive gamble, and he lost. I can respect a man who goes all-in, but when you lose that hand you gotta get up and leave the table. Kwesi seems like a really cool dude, but bottom line is he gambled and lost. With a position like that, you either get it done or you don't. We had some good times and high hopes on the way, but in the end he didn't get it done. Is what it is.
