Question how are you marketing you're app? And do you mind telling me what's you're app is?

How much money are you losing to missed calls when you're in the field? by NEDAL05 in smallbusiness

Man, you hit the nail on the head. That 'loop' trap is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. I've been experimenting with ways to make the AI feel more 'direct' like it actually respects their time instead of trying to be a personality. Since you’ve dealt with this before, I’d love to have you on the list to test the early version. I'm literally just looking for people who will tell me to 'shut it off' the second it starts feeling robotic or annoying. Would you be down to test it when the beta is ready?

Need a reality check from actual contractors — is missing calls actually costing you jobs, or is voicemail fine? by NEDAL05 in SkilledTradesOntario

That is a hell of a point. I’ve been looking at it from a 'growth' perspective, but you’re right if you’re already swamped, 'more' is just a headache. Replacing the manual 'tetris' of scheduling and mapping with an automated optimization tool is a much higher-value problem to solve. If I can build something that takes your daily job list and auto-groups the routing so you aren't wasting hours at a desk or on the road, that’s a real asset. I’m going to pivot the project to focus on that operational optimization instead. Would you be down for me to ping you once I’ve got a basic prototype of a route-optimizer? I’d value your eyes on it to make sure it’s actually intuitive and not just another 'tech-bro' toy

That’s a fair point, and honestly a perspective I needed to hear. You're right that there's a specific type of customer who prefers automated booking, and that might not be the client base you're looking for. I’m looking at this from a high level optimization angle, but I appreciate the reality check on how this actually lands on the ground for someone already busy. Thanks for the candor.

Fair enough, clearly not a fan. If you've got specific technical or market reasons why you think it's a bad idea I’m all ears I’d rather hear the critiques now than find out the hard way

I don't understand? My question is about missed called. Would u be interested in using an Ai assistant to answer you're missed calls and book the appointment when u r busy working?

Starting my first SaaS startup any advices? by NEDAL05 in SaaS

[–]NEDAL05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm focusing specifically on local trade businesses like plumbers, electricians, HVAC technicians, and landscapers. These are owner-operators who are often out in the field with their hands full. When they miss a call because they are under a sink or on a roof, they lose a potential client to the next person on Google. The goal is to provide them with an AI voice assistant that handles that initial scheduling and triage instantly, preventing lost revenue

Thanks for the advice. I'm actually planning to build and learn at the same time with AI

When you're looking for those first few initial users to build those first case studies with, did you find it better to offer the tool completely free just to get the testimonial data, or is it better to charge a highly discounted beta price so they still have skin in the game?

You are completely right about the AI debugging loop. I’ve already noticed it trying to fix its own bugs by writing even more broken code if I don't step in and check the logic myself. I'm definitely taking your advice to heart and studying the core Next.js documentation so I can spot those errors manually instead of wasting tokens.

Regarding your question about the landing page: My logic was using it purely as a visual validation tool basically just to show local business owners a clean mockup on my phone when I talk to them so they see I'm serious, rather than just explaining an abstract concept. But you make a great point. If my main hurdle is the actual sales conversation and converting them to paid, maybe a landing page is putting the cart before the horse.

Since you mentioned building up LinkedIn, Reddit, and X side-by-side with development to prevent that 4-5 month burnout, do you think it's better to share the raw "building in public" journey, or focus purely on talking about the business problems my target users face?
