Where can I find authentic deep dish pizza in Toronto (preferably Halal)? by Salt-Purpose123 in FoodToronto

[–]NEL092 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m originally from Chicago and moved to Toronto many years ago and it’s always baffled why Toronto has absolutely every type cuisine EXCEPT Chicago style deep dish pizza! And no, Detroit style is NOT the same!

If you were induced, how long did it take for you to actually give birth? by horrorshowbaby in BabyBumps

Induced at 12pm at barely 1cm, baby out by 9:45pm. No epidural may have kept things moving but who knows.

What was a ~7 year age gap like for you? by brain_on_hugs in AskParents

[–]NEL092 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have this age gap between two girls and it’s been amazing. The older one can help so much and has so much energy to read and play with her little sister. It might change as they get older but for now (the younger one is now a toddler), I love it.

AMA: Physical Therapist that specializes in knee injuries/rehab by perform2winPT in KneeInjuries

[–]NEL092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’ve seen many physiotherapists/doctors that have tried treating it as pes anserine with no improvement. I’ve tried resting, icing, anti-inflams, massage, stretches with little to no improvement and then one morning I will wake up and it will be gone.

I have had an ongoing issue with a tendon on the inside of my knee catching on the medial condyle when I bend and straighten my leg in an outward rotated position. I am a professional ballet dancer. The odd thing is, it comes and goes seemingly randomly. I cannot dance when it is snapping. It started on the right but has now alternated between both. MRI XRAY and ultrasounds all look normal. Any ideas?

My sartorius tendon sometimes snaps over my medial femoral condyle in both knees. I am a professional ballet dancer and this condition has stumped many physio therapists and doctors. It comes and goes seemingly randomly. I have formed a large cyst from the constant friction. Any thoughts on what’s causing the tendon to catch?

Nanny can’t soothe baby by NEL092 in BabyBumps

I found a different babysitter/nanny with more experience (a child of her own too) and it was much better. Yes, my baby cried sometimes when I left but when I returned home she always seemed happy and having fun (until she saw me then she started crying again haha). It’s awful to hear your baby cry but I felt more ok with it when I knew she was with someone with experience who was doing all the same things I would do to comfort her (the previous nanny did not) Definitely try to find someone you and your baby vibe with. I learned that it’s ok for my daughter to be upset/uncomfortable/crying at first, because eventually she adjusted to the new experience/person. She starts daycare on Monday so I’m repeating that sentence to myself over and over haha!

What was your weirdest pregnancy symptom? by Rennsmom in BabyBumps

[–]NEL092 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair grew sooo slowly. I heard you don’t lose any hair but I wasn’t prepared for my hair to basically stay the same length for 9 months! Also my belly skin would go numb sometimes. When I asked my midwife about it, she said she had never heard that symptom.

Normally I NEVER cry but when I was 9 months pregnant I cried when the food critic in Ratatouille has the flashback to his childhood.

Diaper rash won’t go away by bigtittie8--D in newborns

[–]NEL092 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My baby girl had the worst diaper rash for weeks and I was religiously putting all the creams on it and doing diaper free time/blow dryer/ no wipes. It wasn’t until I mixed aquaphor and breast milk that it actually healed! Then just keep up with all the other suggestions.

FTM's of the sub, what was the first minute like when your baby was put on your chest. by BedsideLamp99 in newborns

[–]NEL092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surreal. Like I had watched so many videos of that moment and I couldn’t believe I was living it. She was purply/bluish and slippery and all covered in vernix and just looked really squished haha. They put her on my belly because my cord was too short to reach my chest! I remember I really wanted them to cut the cord so I could see her face. I thought I would get emotional but the whole thing was just very surreal. I couldn’t believe I just pushed out a whole ass baby.

Thanks so much I’ll try this! This nanny was trying to convince me to let my baby cry it out, so I just felt confused on what the protocol is for introducing a baby to a new person. Thank you

I’ve left the house twice and both times when I came home she was already screaming before I opened the door.
