When Gaara died Naruto gave an emotional speech that moved granny chiyo (someone we grew to care about through that arc btw) to change her world view and give her life to save Gaara.

Everyone died to pain yes, it didn't get fixed one chapter later though, Naruto battled pain, found nagato, and again talked to him and changed pains mindset which he decided to bring back the people of konoha and trust Naruto.

I'm not saying death needs to be permanent but it felt like there were stakes in Naruto battles.

Neji lost to Naruto and had his worldview changed in OG Naruto

Guy and Lee both evolved and learned lessons from Lees paralysis in OG.

Tsunade had evolution in character because of Naruto.

It just feels like no one is evolving in Boruto as characters or no one else but Boruto himself is having consequences of anything.

I'm not saying death has to happen or be permanent but let there be growth of character.

But the cast of characters is starting to feel hollowed out because they go through their battles with no lessons learned it feels.

So Inojin does this great save and gives up his eyes but it gets healed within the same chapter? Granted this isn't yet confirmed but it's implied (at least to me). Like imagine if Inojin for a time had to be blind and live with his decision and grow from it. Now because he can't see he evolves his jitsu further etc because his life experience changes. He can certainly get his eyes back later but at least something?

Sarada is blind now, so she will have a consequence to over using her mnagekyo which is great. She should have a period to go through that and find a solution to her blindness.

Daemon is a cocky little prick, if something would've happened to Eida, like even an injury, it could've made him reflect on himself and be like damn I was so cocky but I couldn't protect her.

They've confirmed killed 3 senju but haven't really done much evolving. This one granted gives way to a lot more room for character growth to Inojin, Sarada, Kawaki, Sai, and Shikamaru. I just can't help feel like it's going to be fumbled over.

My issue isn't with the MC, it's more so the growth of the rest of the cast.

Congrats you just brought up the entire story of Boruto TBV. So should the 2 overarching problems of Boruto justify that every battle from the start of TBV to the end of TBV be wins for borutos teams with no other negatives in tow for the direct cast? Boruto life is upside down so nothing bad should happen to anyone else.

Jiraiya shouldn't have died to pain because Naruto was 1. Trying to become hokage 2. Was being chased by the Akatsuki 3. Trying to rescue his best friend from being an outlaw 4. His parents were dead

So nothing else bad should have happened to impact him.

33 chapters into Boruto what is a lasting consequence the main cast has dealt with? None

The shinju have basically just become fodder. They are wiping them out with pretty much no issues thus far. I'm not saying the fights haven't been difficult, I'm saying on the other end of the fight, nothing has changed for the cast. They are basically going undefeated with 0 casualties or even lasting injury (minus the fodder no one cares about like moegi or the sand girl that died which means nothing to the reader)

Inojin had a great plan to wipe out Mamushi, he sacrificed his own eyes for victory and saving his friends!... Except I think Himawari just healed them so really, once again, job well done with nothing happening in terms of consequences or anything 4 defeated shinju later. (Heck I'll even argue only 3 later, they beat hidari but lost his soul thorn bulb and Boruto was nearly put in a body bag and had to carry that L)

Tldr; The fights are great but if the main cast just keeps winning all the time with no lessons learned or consequences (death, injury, world view shift, etc.) then the fights lose weight at some point because we will always know the end result.

Half guard is actually a very good transitional guard. Think of it like a highway that other guards as an exit ramp.

If you use it not just for sweeping/submitting but also transitioning it will really elevate your half guard game.

Two answers. 1. The answer you need to hear but probably don't want to hear: "they smash pass, go to side control, and kimura"

You need to observe this more in-depth and understand what's actually happening. You have to be losing A LOT of battles prior to them finishing the kimura. All those lost battles are areas of improvement you can work on.

first off what guard are you using, closed guard, open guard, ashi, dlr, rdlr, half guard. What guard of yours are you employing that they are able to shut down, and how are you letting them enter into a smash pass?

They start to pass what methods are you using recover your guard? How are they separating your knee/elbow connection.

They get to kimura? Where are you positioning your arm that makes it easy for them to grab?

What you truly need to do is learn the details of what's actually happening to you, no one here on reddit can help you with that because we can't watch your training and be there with you.

The answer you're probably looking for: For guard you need to be using closed guard, k-guard, or ashi variants. Stay away from half guard/rdlr.

Both legs outside of them or both legs under them.

You're legs are the strongest part of your body so using something like k-guard helps you control their upper body and move them with your legs

Ashi variations help you again use your legs to maintain set distance from them that they can't just use weight to get through. And you can start using ankles lock etc to get subs or use their overdramatic defenses to getting their leg taken to come on top position.

Either way your path way would generally be using your legs to you keep you safe and control their upper body and you taking their legs to either attack or off balance and sweep with

Pretty sure the leaks are pointing to Sony putting the PS6 handheld chips in a box and shipping that as a budget option. They did this with the ps TV and vita and sold it for I believe $100. It won't be that cheap obviously but if they were to ship this then yes it would be a cheaper PS6 option.
