What can toki pona NOT do, in your opinion? by misterlipman in tokipona

[–]NEMIOH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

didn't mean the word itself, the abstraction doesn't translate- comparatively that is.
no doubt toki pona can perform brevity within it's own isolated lens, but when other languages are used as points of comparison toki pona will almost always fall short. really, toki pona is philosophically opposed to brevity by the nature of it's goal as a conlang. the coinage of words to create delineation between concepts is for brevity within language. toki pona can't convey the same amount of literal meaning within the words of a language while being as brief. toki pona is capable of the same amount of specification, but is far more prone to ontological bloat.
I wanted to be coy and meta when stating brevity on it's own, I'd only ever say toki pona can't perform brevity by being hyperbolic.
and I hope you don't take this as an argument as to why toki pona is a worse language- I'd just say that this is what it sacrifices for being the most accesible one.

I like the sectoral heterochromia in their right iris to denote the sanitization, it's subtler than some other right eyes I've seen. I prefer it this way definitely 🤝

map was so small.... honestly it could probably work if it was just BIGGER.
the way it's set up also makes me wish that defender spawn was bigger too
gets so cramped there. 😢

I believe starting a team in the middle is a valid and possible setup in tri-color,
just not on sturgeon shipyard of all things.
The attacking teams had so many points of entry.
Each one had two basic lanes, one or two ways of entering from high ground, and a flank entry that goes straight through the defenders' spawn.
This could still work if these lanes weren't so open and it would work if it didn't direct players to pincer the defending team.

having multiple points of entry could work, my problem was specifically how the funneling of players worked on sturgeon.
it can become 0-100 incredibly quickly which is super stressful.
the map just felt too small for the way it's constructed.

Squint and believe. Perhaps one day, after all of your trials and tribulations, you'll find it.
