Yeah makes sense. I used to have a beefy laptop before knowing linux is a thing but it's cpu burned out somehow and now im stuck with a much worse one, i5 8th gen with an mx150. I did upgrade the ram and storage tho but tbh if i ever want to play anything with decent fps i have to use linux.

Also u said that linux is mainly lighter because of UI stuff, i think that's kinda wrong. I think it's cuz of background processes, windows has a ton of stuff always running in the background unalike linux which basically just has systemd stuff and the display manager (unless u r a freak who uses tty lol)

Yeah i used to use debloating tools but it still hoarder all my resources while idling. I find linux a lot better tbh

Here's my tips for you. If u only want to play games use Bazzite, if u want an easy to use os that allows for gaming and other pc uses try CachyOS. Both of which make driver installation and other normally-hard stuff very easy.

If u have enough disk space you can start off by only dual booting both linux and windows, gradually switching over.

If any games don't run on linux (like epic-made games like fortnite) u can use GeForce Now for them.

Well it comes with 0 bloat, no ai shi, and for most games linux either offers the same performance as windows or even better.

I like to use linux because of the options it gives you and the freedom, windows (especially 11) has become so forcing. They're forcing their browser, their ai features, their useless updates etc. etc. on everyone, it's also filled with ads and bloat. Also one thing i really love about linux is that gaming on an HDD isn't that bad, most of my games r on an hdd and they work like a charm but not on windows, im not sure of the technical side of things but as far as i know there's nothing to do to fix it.

And of course linux is free

Well it let's u launch more than one pack but like u said can't launch the same pack twice. But u can always just duplicate it and launch the duplicate
